MTV’s ‘Are You The One?’ Returns To Paramount+ With A Twist
MTV’s reality dating show Are You The One? premiered on January 21, 2014, and was a big success inspiring its spinoff Are You The One? Second Chances. The reality show’s eighth season started broadcasting back on June 26, 2019. However, the show went on a hiatus for a long time given the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Paramount+ Renews Several MTV Reality Shows
Earlier this year, Paramount+ announced a collection of unscripted series, including additional seasons of several MTV reality shows like:
- The Real World Homecoming
- The Challenge: All Stars
- Are You The One?

AYTO? awards its contestants a million dollars if they figure out every perfect match. The production for the upcoming season is set to start this year. With so many MTV shows now moving to the app, it will be exciting to check what else gets rebooted. Are You The One? Season 8 was the very first sexually fluid season in the show’s history. As per Starcasm, it allowed couples to find their perfect match regardless of their gender.
Are You The One? Brings Contestants From Across The Globe
Although it isn’t confirmed whether this format would glide into the upcoming season, Season 9 is dubbed to be iconic in its own way. Titled ‘Global Edition’, it will follow the original format bringing in 22 singles that make up 11 perfect matches. The twist to this season is that the participants on the show hail from different parts of the globe. The participants will live together under one roof in an international location. So, fans will get to see matches that cross ethnicities and cultures.

When you take a look at the history of the show, most couples that matched up didn’t really end up staying together for long. However, there still might be hope for the upcoming season and its contestant. One couple that did stay together though is from Season 1 and they have also grown as a family.
Season 1 Couple Ethan & Amber Are Now Married With Kids
Back in 2013, Ethan Diamond and Amber Lee came together during their stint on the show and found that they were a perfect match. The couple got engaged during the reunion special that aired in March 2014. Later on, the couple got married and welcomed their daughters Scarlett and Serena. So, it seems their successful love story should be enough for the future Are You The One? contestants to be hopeful for love.
