Below Deck Med Season 7 star Jason Gaskell became the black sheep out of the crew. He admitted that he was unique at the start of the charter season. However, Jason still has trouble fitting in, especially regarding the deck team.

Fans will see the rest of the season unfold, starting with tonight’s episode. So far, there have been disagreements and tensions with both the exterior and interior teams. Jason continuously bumps heads with his bosun Storm Smith.

On Watch What Happens Live, Jason said he would “never work” for Storm again. By the looks of his work ethic and behavior lately, he could find himself fired from Below Deck Med.

Jason Gaskell clashes with Storm Smith

Ever since Storm was promoted to bosun, it’s caused tension between him and Jason. In the midseason trailer dropped by Bravo, Jason threatens to quit his job. He doesn’t care if he leaves his crew in the dust. If Storm is sick of his behavior, he may end up firing him.

Below Deck Med fans want to know if Jason will make it through the charter season. Ever since Season 7 premiered in July 2022, there has been plenty of drama to go around. Storm took over the deck team as a provisional bosun, after Raygan Tyler’s firing. While Storm gets along with his friend Mzi Dempers and newbie Courtney Veale, that hasn’t been the case with Jason.

The two men can’t seem to get along. Jason hasn’t warmed up to the other two either. In a previous episode of Below Deck Med, he overheard Courtney and Mzi talking about him. According to the midseason trailer, it looks like Jason will reach his breaking point.

“Replace me,” Jason tells Storm in one scene. “I’m telling you right now, bring someone else in.”

Leaving Below Deck Med Season 7?

Does this mean that Jason will either quit or get fired? At the time of this article, only 11 episodes of Below Deck Med Season 7 have aired. Jason hasn’t lost his position yet. However, his work relationship with Storm has been rocky at best.

It’ll be interesting to see if Jason will remain on the boat. In a surprising turn of events, he could apologize to Jason and stick around for the sake of the team. Below Deck Med fans haven’t warmed up to Jason as well, especially after his interview on WWHL.
