’20/20′ Cinderella 25th Anniversary Reunion Special, Airdate?
Cinderella is coming back with her glass slippers, not with a movie but with a much-needed reunion. ABC recently announced a Cinderella reunion soon to air on its network by the end of August. Disney Princess Week kicks off starting August 23, 2022. In honor of this global event, the cast of 1997’s Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella will come together for a special edition of 20/20. This American musical fantasy movie’s reunion will happen on August 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT for its 25th anniversary.
Cinderella’s Original Cast Comes Together For A Reunion
As revealed by Deadline, Brandy, who played the part of Cinderella in the musical, will be joined by the original cast. This includes names like Victor Garber, Whoopi Goldberg, Bernadette Peters, Paola Montalban, Veanne Cox, and Jason Alexander. Moreover, after this special reunion, The Wonderful World Of Disney will air the original musical in its entirety.
Imogen Lloyd Webber, the SVP at Concord Theatricals, commented on this reunion on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization. He said, “We’re delighted that the 25th anniversary of this landmark incarnation of ‘Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella’ is being celebrated on its original network.”

Cinderella Will Be Broadcasted On TV After 20+ Years
OG cast members Natalie Desselle-Reid and Whitney Houston passed away in 2020 and 2012, respectively. This will be the first time in more than 20 years that this live-action movie will be broadcasted on TV. However, fans can watch the musical, which is currently streaming on Disney+. After Cinderella: The Reunion airs, a special edition of 20/20 will be available to stream on Hulu the next day.
