‘On Patrol: Live’ Fans Say Reelz Dropped Ball On New Show?
On Patrol: Live fans say Reelz dropped the ball with its new show. It’s been over two years since A&E canceled Live PD. The decision came at the height of the COVID pandemic, Black Live Matters protests, and the death of George Floyd.
Due to the controversy surrounding the show, they pulled the plug. What also didn’t help matters is that competitive cop shows were getting canned during that time, including FOX’s long-running series Cops.
But, it looks like Reelz has picked up both Cops and Live PD. The latter made its big premiere on Friday, July 22 at 9 p.m. ET.

What happened to On Patrol: Live?
Unfortunately, the premiere of On Patrol: Live was met by technical glitches. Fans noticed different things on their screens. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, some saw a black screen for 15 minutes. Others reported they saw repeats of Las Vegas Jail, which led to mass confusion on social media.
Some fans wondered if they were watching a live show. Others wanted to know if On Patrol: Live was coming back at all. Thankfully, host Dan Abrams recapped what they missed during that time lost. However, the live show didn’t run perfectly throughout the night.
Fans noticed other apparent technical issues. Sometimes there were issues with the audio. Or, there would be a lag. Needless to say, On Patrol: Live fans were disappointed with their premiere. Most of them took to Twitter to air their frustrations. They would’ve hoped that production worked out its bugs by now.
The fanbase even took to the TV Shows Ace comment section to share their thoughts. Most weren’t impressed with the long delay or the premiere itself because of the technical problems. After about an hour of glitches, it successfully broadcasted from 10:14 p.m. ET to 12:24 a.m. ET without commercial breaks.
Reelz dropped the ball on the Live PD reboot?
Some fans are disappointed with the premiere. Even though it ran later into the night without commercials, it wasn’t enough. The On Patrol: Live fans sounded off on their thoughts. Most of them agree that Reelz dropped the ball on the show. They think it deserves a better network, one that’s on par with A&E.
“The show failed to return and Reelz stuck episodes of ‘Jail’ in its place. So sad that this network didn’t fully understand the importance of the franchise that was dropped in their laps. People need to lose their jobs over this,” one fan wrote.
“Waited 2 years for this show to come back. Reelz dropped the ball wow,” a second one added.
“REELZ really blew the premiere of On Patrol: Live tonight. It is 10:15 pm EDT and the technical problems have not yet been resolved!” a third added, while a fourth simply wrote, “What a disappointment!”
