Hallmark’s Fall Into Love kicks off with Love In The Limelight, based on Willie Aames’s (Eights Is Enough, Picture Perfect Mysteries: Exit Stage Death) real-life story. This movie stars real-life couple Alexa (Spy Kids franchise, Taking A Shot At Love), and Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush, Picture Perfect Mysteries).

Ever., Christmas In Wonderland), Samuel Torres (High School Musical: The Musical), Courtney Grant (Pretty Dudes, Female Friendly), Eric Osmond (The Housewives Of The North Pole, Power Rangers: Origins), Claire Quigley (Making Out), and Julian James (Molly) all star in this new Hallmark movie.
In addition to Willie Aames, Winnie Hung and Rich Tabach (Dater’s Handbook, Sun, Sand & Romance) wrote the script, with Ron Oliver (Christmas At The Plaza, A Timeless Christmas) as the director.
What Is Hallmark’s Love In The Limelight About?
According to the Hallmark synopsis, ever since she was a teenager, Summer (Alexa PenaVega) was obsessed with the boy band the Mendez Boyz. She was especially devoted to Nick (Carlos PenaVega). Summer even sends him a letter.
Touched by the sweet letter, Nick decides this response should be more than a letter. He decides to call Summer. This starts a long-time friendship between the two.
Thankfully, there eventually is an opportunity for the two to meet in person. A little older, Summer now works at a local university, in human resources. Moreover, Nick is headed to her hometown of Salt Lake City. That is because his manager booked a gig there.
Now, this friendship has the ability to become a romance. But, Summer breaks things off. However, Summer’s Abuelita (Coll) – a hip grandma with a TikTok following – encourages her to follow her heart.

The premiere of Hallmark’s Love In The Limelight is Saturday, August 6, at 8 p.m., Eastern. Encore showings include Sunday, August 7, at 6 p.m., Thursday, August 11, at 8 p.m., Sunday, August 14 at 12 p.m., and Saturday, August 20, at 4 p.m., all times Eastern.
Movie Soundtrack Includes Six Songs Written By Carlos PenaVega
Hallmark’s Love In The Limelight includes a Latin soundtrack. Carlos PenaVega wrote six original Spanglish songs that are part of this movie. They include: “If You Let Me,” “Someday Somewhere,” “BASIC,” “Vamos Pasar La Bien,” “Fall Again” and “Por Ti.”
Fans of the band Big Time Rush may already know that Carlos PenaVega is a member of that band. In addition, they are currently on a national tour and could be in your hometown soon!
