Frustrated ‘Love Island USA’ Fans ABANDON New Season?
Frustrated Love Island USA fans are ready to ditch Season 4, which premiered on Peacock. Premium subscribers got early access to the show, while the remaining free subscribers had to wait a little bit. Regardless, new episodes are expected to drop at 9 p.m. ET from Tuesdays through Sundays.
Fans feel this messes with the live aspect of the series, where they could tweet during each episode. That’s just one of the many changes they’re not liking. The dating reality competition returned with a whole new host and narrator. Some fans have taken to Twitter to boycott the new show after its move to Peacock.
Why did Love Island USA move to Peacock?
Love Island USA fans want to know why the show moved from CBS to Peacock. There are many rumors about this risky move. So, let’s set the record straight. Love Island USA moved to Peacock with a racier format that puts it in competition with popular Netflix reality shows like FBoy Island and Too Hot To Handle. That means it will stream exclusive content, including the action that takes place in-between the sheets.

In the teaser video for Love Island USA Season 4, a woman could be heard morning. Peacock warned viewers that it’s streaming on the platform “Due to the explicit nature of this show.” Producers wanted to continue pushing the envelope this season. NBCUniversal was on board with making it happen, whereas CBS shied away from the idea.
“Love Island is a highly addictive dating format that is primed for a streaming service like Peacock where we can push boundaries and bring viewers steamy and dramatic twists,” Jenny Groom, executive VP of entertainment unscripted content for NBC TV and streaming, told The Hollywood Reporter. “The series took pop culture by storm after the UK format found fans across the world, and we are thrilled to be able to bring an all-new version to Peacock this summer anchoring our unscripted slate.”

CBS wanted nothing to do with the show
The Hollywood Reporter also revealed that CBS wanted to cut more time from Love Island USA. That means they only wanted to air it a few times a week. Producers left them with a “take me or leave me” decision. This led to a streaming war between CBS’s Parmount+ and NBC’s Peacock.
CBS wanted to move on from Love Island USA. They feel the dating series is too racy for its network. They’re placing their bets on the new show The Real Love Boat, which is premiering in Fall 2022. TV Shows Ace previously reported the details of the new dating series, which is based on the classic one-hour comedy, The Love Boat.
Love Island USA fans hate the new format
However, most Love Island USA fans are hating the new format. They’re promising to boycott the show after the producer made some big changes. Sarah Hyland is the new host of the fourth season. Arielle Vandenberg fronted the show for three seasons.
Producers also replaced narrator Matthew Hoffman with Iain Stirling, who is the original narrator of the UK version. Most fans are upset that Arielle is no longer the host. They’re not happy with her replacement, as they don’t like that she’s a well-known celebrity.
Love Island USA fans took to Twitter during the show’s premiere to air their grievances. Some of them plan to boycott the new season. Others are adjusting to the style, but still don’t like it. It’ll be interesting to see if the fanbase holds on.
- “I’m boycotting this season since Arielle Vandenberg is being replaced by a-lister.”
- “I’m not feeling this new host. I need miss Arielle Vandenberg back!”
- “Please don’t give me a reason to abandon the U.S. version.”
- “Y’all got rid of Arielle AND Matthew… what’s the point?”
- “Bring back the old voiceover guy.”
Arielle expressed her disappointment on Instagram. She seemed to be willing to go with some of the changes. The former presenter was “very unhappy” that she wasn’t asked back. She thanked her Love Island USA family for the opportunity.

I’m not enjoying the new format don’t really plan to pay to see it. I was a huge fan before it changed.
Not happy about the narrator and host changes. I’m not fond of the “Host” being younger than some of the contestants and she seems extremely awkward in this role. The narrator is great for the UK version , but the American viewing audience doesn’t get half of what he is saying.
The casting couldn’t take place it seems until the network was agreed upon and seems like they casted very fast or didn’t have much advertising time so we’re not given many options to choose from.
Iain Sterling and Peacock is a wonderful combination. Finally a Love Island USA season worth watching.
