Love Island USA Season 4 premiered on Tuesday, July 19 on Peacock. Premium subscribers got early access to the episode, while free subscribers had to wait a little longer. If you want to watch and live-tweet the show in real-time, you can expect new episodes to drop at 9 p.m. ET from Tuesday through Sunday.

The reality competition used to air on CBS stateside. However, it moved to the streaming service since it’s supposed to be racier than ever. So far, it doesn’t have some of the strict rules that the UK version has. For example, the first group of girls walked out in barely-there string bikinis and G-string swimsuits.

There was also something noticeably different about Love Island USA. Fans noticed that host Arielle Vandenberg was missing. She didn’t make her grand entrance like she normally does. Rather, Modern Family alum Sarah Hyland took her place. Read on to learn why Arielle isn’t on the new season.

What happened to Arielle Vandenberg?

Love Island USA Season 4 is back with ten new singles from across the country. They traveled far and wide to the villa to find their soulmate. The show felt a little different this season since it’s not airing on cable television. Fans will have to watch new episodes on Peacock if they have access to it.

Also, Arielle Vandenberg didn’t return to the series. She’s been hosting Love Island USA since its inception in 2019. Arielle didn’t follow the show’s move from CBS to Peacock. Instead, Sarah Hyland will now host the series. This gave fans a jolt as they didn’t expect a Hollywood star to host the dating competition.

Some were confused why it wasn’t previously revealed that Arielle wouldn’t return as the host for the new season. They feel like the announcement was delayed. Last month, Sarah confirmed that she was hosting Love Island USA when she shared a photo of herself on Instagram wearing a brown and orange bikini and holding a wine glass. She promised fans that it would be a “juicy” season.

Former Love Island USA host sets the record straight

Arielle has since broken her silence since the controversy. She revealed why she’s not returning to Love Island USA. The bubbly entertainer took to Instagram to explain her disappearance with a carousel of photos, capturing some of her best memories. She revealed that she didn’t make the decision to leave the show.

“I was cast to be the host of CBS’s version of Love Island and we had 3 amazing seasons!” Arielle wrote in her Instagram post on June 30. “Unfortunately, CBS didn’t pick it up for a fourth season. The show is now going to Peacock and it being a different network, they are rebranding it completely, with a new narrator and new host.”

Arielle’s right. Matthew Hoffman is no longer the show’s narrator. He was replaced by Scottish comedian Iain Stirling, who is the iconic narrator of Love Island UK.
