Rachel Recchia, Gabby Windey Respond To Claims Clayton Echard Was Bullied
The two leads of The Bachelorette had a rough go of it as two of the final three on Clayton Echard’s season. Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia were both broken-hearted after Clayton told them he loved them. Soon after he chose Susie Evans.
Gabby said they were able to get closure at After the Final Rose. They felt like they could say their piece and move on. When the men came out of the limo, a lot of them wanted to set themselves apart from Clayton. There was a guy who looked very similar to Echard who told them, “I’m not him.”
There was a children’s choir singing “Clayton Sucks” and several other men made references to the former Bachelor. Clayton has said he dealt with a lot of hate after his season aired and fans who didn’t care for the shade were worried about him watching the first episode.
Do They Feel Like Clayton Echard Was Being Bullied?
Gabby and Rachel said they hope it doesn’t play the way some people are taking the Clayton Echard teasing. According to Us Weekly Rachel said, “Of course, no one was ever using his name maliciously or to be mean or bully him.” She acknowledged they didn’t really want to talk about Clayton when meeting their contestants.
Gabby said filming was a week after the Final Rose so everything was fresh. She understands where it seemed a bit much. Especially with the children’s choir singing about how much he sucked. Gabby said, “I don’t think anyone meant anything malicious. I don’t think it was truly slander. I feel they were just trying to poke fun at it.”
Susie Took It A Bit Harder Than Clayton
Gabby and Rachel said they still don’t really get where Clayton Echard was coming from for telling them all three that he loved them. They agreed there could be connections with more than one person, but that the journey they’re on isn’t the journey Clayton was on. Fans are anxious to see how the girls handle the final three for each of them when things get real.
Susie from the beginning has protected her man. When people came for him on TikTok she made response videos telling them where to stick it. So, for her part, the comments didn’t sit well for her. She said Clayton has learned to laugh at himself, but she worried the hate would just start all over again. Clayton agreed with her. According to Bachelor Nation, he laughed at it, but there probably would be cyberbullying coming his way.
