The premiere of The Bachelorette aired Monday night and there was a lot of Clayton Echard bashing. So much so that Clayton’s girlfriend Susie Evans, other alums and fans reacted. There were numerous Twitter comments, memes and even TikTok’s regarding all the hate being spewed at Clayton. Keep reading to find out more.

Susie Evans Reacts to Clayton Echard bashing

Susie Evans is standing by her man following the premier of Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s season of The Bachelorette. The show claims to be against bullying yet there was a lot of shade thrown at Clayton Echard during the two-hour premiere.

Susie went to TikTok to share a funny video letting everyone know she wasn’t okay with their actions. She used the now-famous Will Smith rant about keeping his wife’s name out of Chris Rock’s mouth. She lip-synced,  “Keep my wife’s name out your f—king mouth.” Susie then showed screenshots of some of the men making fun of Clayton and let everyone know it was not okay.

The hits were awful on Clayton. Someone called him a “piece of s—t.” Another had a choir sing “Clayton sucks.”

US Weekly shared what Clayton and Susie had to say about the premiere and the bullying that took place. Clayton said he kept telling himself it’s not personal it’s all business.

Susie said, “Clayton handled it better, overall, than I did. I was annoyed.” She continued, “Like come on. Clayton has given, you know, he can laugh at himself and I can laugh at Clayton. … And I can laugh at myself. But also, my fear is, like, ‘Does this open the floodgates back up of all the hate and stuff?’ So that’s where I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, really?’ But Clayton, definitely was, like, going with the flow. … He was able to laugh.”

It could all lead to cyberbullying

While Clayton did try to laugh and go with the flow he does think the whole topic could have been avoided. He said, “Do I think that it’s that’s what should have been shown? I mean, no. I do think it was cyberbullying or an attack or it’s going to lead to cyberbullying.”

Katie Thurston also spoke up and said she’s not okay with all the Clayton slander.

Someone else said, “ABC refuses to let everyone forget how bad
@ClaytonEchard was at being the Bachelor. #ricochetshot #TheBachelorette”

Another fan said, “Crappy move on ABCs end but hey… look how it ended for you.”

Overall, Clayton had a ton of fans rallying behind him and showing support. While he perhaps had a rocky season, nobody deserves to be made fun of consistently. Clayton has already noted how the show messed with his mental health a lot.

Did you watch The Bachelorette premiere? What did you think of the Clayton jabs?
