What Becca Kufrin Hopes Fans Take From Her Untraditional Proposal
Becca Kufrin flipped the script on Thomas Jacobs when she proposed to him. He, of course, said yes. Becca came onto Bachelor in Paradise a little controversially because she had already been the lead and gotten engaged. Lady love smiled at her on the beach and she hit it off with Thomas. They broke up for a little while, but reconnected and fell even more in love.
She also didn’t hesitate to speak about her last engagement with Garrett Yrigoyen. Garrett won her season of The Bachelorette, but she says something felt off about that one and this one, “feels right.” Before that, she was proposed to by Arie Luyendyk on his season of The Bachelor.
Becca Kufrin Wants Her Proposal To Encourage Others
Becca Kufrin doesn’t care that there are mixed emotions about her choice to propose. She said with the first engagement, “there was so much publicity and attention that it just felt weird.” According to People, now she feels she can celebrate it. Becca said there wasn’t a doubt in her mind, that Thomas would say yes. She also knew he wasn’t the type to feel emasculated ever. That gave her the confidence to go for it.
She says she hopes her choice to propose will inspire other Bachelorettes to propose to their winners. Becca said, “I hope that if any female on the show wants to propose to a man, hell yeah, go for it.” According to E-News, she thinks people should “screw the norm.” She said, “I hope that other people can now feel empowered and say it’s okay to bend the rules and go outside of the norm and feel confident about it.”
She Put A Lot Of Thought Into It
Becca Kufrin said when she decided she was going to propose, she started planning. She started planning in April and popped the question in May saying she needed to show him how committed she is. Becca said she got the idea from Judge Judy who proposed to her husband.
Kufrin said despite some fans hating her proposal, she hasn’t let it get her down. She said she and Thomas have been able to, “roll with the punches and disregard all of the nasty comments.” Becca said she never planned to go through a public breakup but did sign up for something that she knew would make her life more public.
Kufrin said, “I just wish people would realize that not everything is fair game.”
