In the aftermath of a guilty verdict, questions arise if the IRS might seize Todd & Julie Chrisley’s property. Keep reading for more information.
Chrisley trial leaves more questions than answers
On Tuesday, June 7, Todd & Julie Chrisley were convicted on 12 charges involving tax evasion and bank fraud. They were accused of “fraudulently obtain[ing] $30 million in loans,” per Variety.
The outlet reports that Julie Chrisley was also found guilty of “obstruction of justice for submitting a fraudulent document in response to a grand jury subpoena.”
Their accountant, Peter Tarantino, was convicted of helping them evade paying taxes.
All three will face sentencing in October. In the meantime, Todd and Julie are under house arrest.
But how much longer will they even have a house? That’s one question fans are asking after the trial.
Lindsie Chrisley’s statements on the stand has also come under question.
However, it seems the biggest question mark is what will happen to Chrisley Knows Best and its spinoff Growing Up Chrisley?
The USA Network is going ahead with the already-planned new episodes beginning on June 23. Before the trial, they announced that the show was renewed for Season 10. It’s unclear at this point exactly how the network plans to handle the future of its most popular reality show.
Will Todd & Julie Chrisley get the maximum of 30 years each or will the government seize their property instead?
Will the IRS seize Todd & Julie Chrisley’s property?
Blogger Katie Joy has a complex relationship with the Chrisley family. She’s close friends with Todd’s estranged daughter Lindsie.
However, she’s also made an enemy of Todd himself. The television personality and the blogger are embroiled in a legal battle of mutual lawsuits. Chrisley was the first to file, with the blogger responding with a counterclaim.
The Chrisley Knows Best star claims Katie Joy spread lies about him to her thousands of followers.
She’s been keeping a close eye on the Chrisley trial. She took to @withoutacrystalball Instagram account to share the latest she’s heard about Todd and Julie’s fate.
According to the blogger’s inside source, the IRS is allegedly looking to seize all of Julie & Todd’s property following their conviction.
Katie Joy alleges that the couple “will not have much left” if their property is seized.
Surely not enough money for civil lawsuits, she claims.
Many who followed the trial speculate that the Chrisleys will get minimal prison time but lose all their money and property.
