Fans of Hallmark’s Mystery 101 have been waiting nine months for the resolution to the Deadly History cliffhanger.

Moreover, the lack of information on the series has been the topic of message boards and Reddit posts. Sleuthers have been asking Mystery 101 stars Jill Wagner and Kristoffer Polaha about the eighth movie.

What is the latest on the Hallmark Signature Movie series?

Is Hallmark’s Mystery 101 Canceled?

Mystery 101 star Kristoffer Polaha has been on the press circle of late. That is because he is starring with Angie Harmon in the satisfying new Lifetime movie series, Buried In Barstow.

Inevitably, someone wants to know about Mystery 101. The last movie, Deadly History, had a shocking cliffhanger. That movie premiered in mid-September 2021. Is Hallmark making a new movie?

What does Polaha have to say about the status of Mystery 101?

The Dater’s Handbook star revealed to Metacritic that “Mystery 101 is, for all intents and purposes, on a very long hiatus. We will find out about the future of Mystery 101. That’s not to say it’s canceled, but I have no dates as to when we’re going to do No. 8.”

Mystery Movie Stars Revealed Hallmark Series Canceled

Since September, the stars of several Hallmark mysteries have revealed their series have been canceled. That includes Kellie Martin sharing that Hailey Dean Mysteries was canceled, Alexa PenaVega that Picture Perfect Mysteries was done, and Danica McKellar that Matchmaker Mysteries is over.

However, the network did not share that program information.

One important detail about Polaha’s comment on Mystery 101 is that the network did not reveal that it is canceled. He shared that it is “on a very hiatus,” as well as revealed that it has not been canceled. Hallmark is just not doing anything with it now.

Hallmark’s Mystery 101, Movie 8 Was Scheduled To Film In 2021

Kristoffer Polaha also shared that Hallmark was going to film the Mystery 101 eighth movie late in 2021.

He shared the information that Jill Wagner shared with him.

I got this random call from my co-star in October and she was like, ‘Yeah, we’re not going to shoot Mystery 101 in November, it might get pushed to January.’ And I got on the phone with everybody at Hallmark and said, ‘Hey, what’s going on?’ My Spidey senses were tingling, and I was like, ‘I don’t know that we’re gonna film this one any time soon.’

Therefore, Kris revealed that the original plan was that they would film the eighth movie in November 2021. Next, they tentatively pushed it to January 2022.

However, after speaking to the folks at Hallmark, Kristoffer Polaha got the chance to work on the Lifetime movie with Angie Harmon. He signed a four-picture deal with them. Moreover, based on viewership and the buzz around Buried In Barstow, he is on a hit show.

However, there is still no word on when they will film this mystery. We know that John Christian Plummer has a script ready to go. However, there is a huge delay.

Moreover, that delay is much better than the alternative. The stars that worked in the canceled shows were told that they were canceled.

Kristoffer Polaha confirmed that the series is not canceled. It is just on hiatus. It took a few years for Hallmark to make the most recent Signed, Sealed, Delivered movie. Could this happen with Mystery 101?

Are you waiting for the next Mystery 101?

  1. Since many of these mystery series are cancelled, it would be a disappointment to the fans of Mystery 101, to have it cancelled as well. It’s very well written, the whodunit part is intriguing for the most part, and the chemistry of actors works well throughout the episodes. If I had to vote, I vote to keep writing more episodes of Mystery 101!

  2. It’s the best ever. I love Polaha and Wagner together. Please more episodes.
Love the Mystery 101. Come on. I watch them over and over. Thanks

  3. I guess being on hiatus is better than out right being cancelled. It is one reason why people leave franchises and get sucked into garbage fake “reality” shows.
I lost faith in Kellie Martin’s book shop mysteries, waiting for the “Recovered” podcasts mysteries to comeback.
There is so many choices available, the big bucks payoffs don’t happen immediately, but the bean counters don’t want to risk anything.

  4. Tired of hallmark cancelling so many mysteries, they need to change the name to hallmark movies, as to teagarden series. Keep it to. Change name to Real murders clubs and it opens a whole new ball game. I would like to see at least 1 new mystery a week, even up number of mysteries with movies. Just my ideas

  5. Please start production on Mystery 101, episode 8. We’ve waited a long time for the cliff hanger!! I understand some series must be cancelled, but can you please show the old shows? They are good shows and we love to re-watch them. Tired of the gooy sweet romances and that’s why we pay for the Mystery channel. The old romance and mysteries were very good, but now we are just getting cookie cutter movies, same plot, same themes, etc etc Thank you

  6. I’m about to give up completely on hallmark. Mystery 101 is their best series & they leave us hanging. I sure don’t know what’s up with them & even though there are other mystery series I enjoy if there are no more mystery 101 movies coming out I will no longer be watching their channel, any of them. They’ve canceled too many good series & replaced them with ridiculous ones. Please bring back mystery 101.

  7. Mystery 101 was my favorite mystery series on Hallmark. I am very disappointed that the network does not have the next one in production after the cliff hangar at the end of the last movie and have discontinued the series. Since a couple of more mystery series have started and familiar stars have moved on to the GAC Family Channel, it looks like Hallmark does not care about their fanbase. Shame on the decision makers. I find the new batch of movies boring with dull storylines and actors with no chemistry. I watch the first ten minutes of most new movies, stop watching and then delete these duds from my DVR recordings.

  9. Waiting patiently for Mystery 101 new episode.
Polaha and Wagner are perfect together.
Please do not disappoint us by cancelling this series.
    Hardly anything left to enjoy.

  10. It sad that they cancel a great Mystery movie. And what is madding that the last show they has Amy & Travis tell each other they loved them. And closing bit. Amy is engaged to someone else. Guess the Directors & the powers that be think nothing of their loyal fans of their movies! If it’s Hallmark or what ever. Maybe Kristoffer Polaha & Jill Wagner can get a movie on The Great American Channel. Because these two are great actors and are great together. I watch all the reruns of Mystery 101. All except the last 5 min of the last show

  11. Really enjoyed Mystery 101, hate it when these series just end, sounds like many would like to see what happened. Good to listen to your fans.😉

  12. I sure hope this wonderful series comes back. The last I saw was they acknowledged that they fell in love. Enjoy all the characters so far. What’s not to love ‼️❓😎

  13. Watched Mystery 101 (the cliffhanger) the other night. I was so upset with the ending it is all I could think about. This is by far your best series and it perplexes your viewers when you leave us hanging. Polaha and Wagner are my two favorites. I watched them in Blue Pearl and they have such undeniable chemistry, you just want to see more. Please Hallmark end my and many viewers misery by releasing the next and hopefully many more Mystery 101 movies. We all want to know if Amy and Travis get back together. You’ve got a winner here; don’t disappoint your following!
