Sleuthers, are you ready for another intense thriller? Hallmark’s Mystery 101: Deadly History is premiering soon. This episode stars the dream team of Jill Wagner (The Angel Tree, Stargate Atlantis), Kristoffer Polaha (Jurassic World: Dominion, Wonder Woman 1984), Robin Thomas (Murphy Brown, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and Peter Benson (Aurora Teagarden Mysteries, The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco).

This movie takes place right after the events of the last episode, Mystery 101: Killer Timing. This is what we know about the upcoming movie.

What Do We Know About Hallmark’s Mystery 101: Deadly History?

According to the Hallmark press release, Mystery 101: Deadly History takes place the day after the events of Mystery 101: Killer Timing. Amy (Wagner), Travis (Polaha), and Graham (Thomas) travel to Ithaca, New York to find Amy’s Uncle Alastair (Peter Benson).

Uncle Alastair is missing. He is a college professor in the Ithaca area. In addition, his valuable research is also missing. This research is very personal. Moreover, it is information on the accidental death of a prominent family heir 50 years year ago. Lastly, Alistair believed this death may have been a murder!

Joining forces with the local sheriff, Amy and Travis start to work their way through the clues, and suspects. This maze of information includes an “acerbic” corporate CEO, an eccentric patriarch, and Alastair’s estranged wife. However, Amy has something in common with her. She is also a professor who specializes in crime fiction.

The Ending Promises To Be A Shocker!

Fans of Hallmark’s Mystery 101 series know that these are not ordinary mysteries. Sometimes there are some surprises. It sounds like Jill Wagner is sharing that there will be some big surprises in Deadly History.

She wrote on Instagram, “An all-new episode airs August 1st on @hallmarkmovie. @stacey.harding was the director and she was amazing to work with! Of course, @polahaha and @robinthomasactor slayed it again. All of the cast and crew were at the top of their game. @johnchristianplummer surprised the heck out of me with this ending!!! This is a good one ladies and gentlemen! Enjoy.”

Kristoffer Polaha concurs. He went to Instagram and made a point of mentioning the great screenwriting by John Christian Plummer. “We got a new one for you #mystery101 fans! @jillwagner, @robinthomasactor, and me -@polahaha- are bringing the heat for some summer fun and mystery. Our director @stacey.harding crushed it on this film!! We had a great time making this one and I know you’re gonna love it! @johnchristianplummer has written every single episode and each one gets better than the last! Wait till you see how this one ends!!!

Subsequently, co-star Robin Thomas, revealed that the trio of Wagner, Polaha, and himself “dug deep.” He wrote on Instagram, “Here we go again. The latest installment premiere’s August 1 on Hallmark movies and mysteries channel @jillwagner @polahaha and me @robinthomasactor dug deep on this one.”

One fun fact is that Robin Thomas played Kristoffer Polaha’s father in Life Unexpected. Of course, in the Mystery 101 series, Thomas plays Jill Wagner’s father. It is all in the family!

  1. Oh, no! Amy and Travis belong together. The last scene regarding Amy having a fiancé is not what we want.😠

  2. After seeing that shocking ending for episode 7 , I don’t suppose the cast and crew gave fans an early Christmas present and already filmed episode 8 for us did they ?
Will be definitely loosing sleep over the ending of episode 7 until we get some answers ! Hopefully it’s a bad dream ?!

  3. I really enjoy this series. I love the characters as they really blend in together. I did hate the ending last night. Could you let the public know when the next episode will be airing? How could she be engaged to someone else after they finally told each other how they felt. Please at least give us a date to when the next one will air.

  4. I have really liked The Mystery 101 TV series up until now!! Horrible ending, made absolutely no sense, had nothing to do with the storyline. IMHO it was not clever. I’m done watching Mystery 101.

  5. This is one of my favorite Hallmark mystery movies. But I agree, it was a horrible ending! And then we need to wait till next year to find out what’s happening. That is just plain depressing! 😟

  6. The ending was a shocker, and I wonder what the writers are setting up for the next episode. I didn’t like the ending, and I hope that the back story gets filled in pretty quickly and that a new episode appears before the end of 2021.

  7. I love the series. All of the actors have a great chemistry. I was happy to see Amy and Travis say how they felt about each other. But, I hated the scene that followed. Not sure why that is happening. I like happy endings!

  8. Hated the ending of this movie. You may have lost a big fan if this is really the beginning of the next film!

    1. This was my favorite Hallmark show…. until that lousy look ahead ending.

Now it is like every other prime time soap opera on some of the other channels. Done with it!

  9. I really was displeased at the way the least Mystery 101 ended. Was Amy engaged all the time and Why? Will there be a another Mystery 101 to answer these questions. Very troubling ending especially for Travis. He went of his help the help Amy and that is how it ended for him.

  10. I am hoping that the ending to the last Mystery 101 is misleading. Otherwise I am done watching. Better hope that fiancé was an ex.

  11. I hated the ending and felt that if Travis was really disappointed or mad (broken heart) at Amy he should have said “What is SHE doing here?” I literally lost sleep that night rehashing the ending. Thought of erasing the series and never watching it again. It took me one week to re-watch the latest installment. I like “happy endings” and feel that is the hallmark of Hallmark movies.

  12. Did I miss the Mystery 101 movie where Amy is standing by her dead fiancé that occurred AFTER she professed her love for Travis? Hopefully that movie exists somewhere.

  13. I believe they should stop making the little one mysteries series and you should retire once and for all and stop making the movies when you start making movies real and that’s it it’s over
