What Is Lifetime’s Suitcase Killer: The Melanie McGuire Story About?
According to the Lifetime synopsis, Melanie McGuire (King) had it all. She was an exceptional fertility nurse. In addition, she was married to her ex-Navy husband Bill (Roark). Moreover, she doted on her two boys.
However, things dramatically change when she falls for Brad (Hurst). Brad is a doctor at the clinic. The two get entangled in a very steamy affair. She is so obsessed with him that she does the unthinkable.
After drugging, then killing Bill, she does something absolutely horrific. She completely dismembers her dead husband. Then she puts the smaller body parts into three suitcases.
Next, Melanie throws the three suitcases into the Chesapeake Bay. She thinks that she is now free. But, it doesn’t exactly turn out that way. The three suitcases are found in Virginia Beach, washed up on the shore. This gruesome sight has horrified the police. Who could do such a thing?
Therefore, the police launch an investigation. Eventually, Melanie becomes the main suspect. Attorney general Patti Prezioso (Malick) leads the efforts to bring Melanie to justice.
Melanie is convicted. But, to this day, she still insists she is innocent.
