Michelle Duggar Resurfaces Online For First Time Since Josh’s Sentencing

Former 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On star Michelle Duggar has made a rare appearance after her son’s sentencing. If you missed it, you should know that Josh Duggar was found guilty of child pornography charges in December. And now, he’s been sentenced to 151 months behind bars.

Though Michelle did not attend his sentencing, she did write a letter in hopes of getting him a lesser sentence. She has been laying low since before his May 25 sentencing date.

So, what’s new with the Duggars now?

Michelle Duggar returns with a family update.

Michelle returned to her family’s blog to share a big update with fans. In a new blog post, published on June 2, she revealed that her son Jackson had completed a “9-week Basic Training program” at ALERT Academy.

The proud mother wrote, “I could hardly wait to see his smiling face again—I’m sure those 9 weeks seemed longer for his mama than for him! We all really missed Jackson and his quick humor and cheerful whistling around the house while he was away. Jackson also turned 18 while he was in Texas—I can hardly believe my baby boy is now officially an adult! I definitely shed some happy tears when I was finally able to give him a big hug at the conclusion of the Advancement ceremony!”

Michelle Duggar also wrote, “Some highlights of things Jackson experienced in Basic include training in wilderness survival techniques, rope systems, rescues, land navigation, response drills, and multi-day hiking. It was so neat to see him rappel down the huge tower during the demonstration! Wow!”

Have Josh’s parents issued a statement on his sentencing?

At this time, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have not said anything about their son’s sentencing. It’s unclear if they will eventually issue a statement or not.

Several of Jim Bob and Michelle’s adult children, including Jason Duggar and Jill and Derick Dillard, have issued statements. Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo may have dropped a subtle message.

Cousin Amy King and Jim Bob’s sister, Deanna Duggar have also spoken out.

Fans will have to wait and see whether Michelle and Jim Bob speak out about Josh’s sentencing.
