Camila Cabello Returns To ‘The Voice,’ Kelly Clarkson Leaving?
Camila Cabello officially joins The Voice. This comes as Kelly Clarkson is leaving the NBC singing competition. For the past few months, rumors swirled that she wants to take a step back from the show. Kelly has been focused on revamping her career, especially after her headline-making divorce and name change.
As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Blake Shelton and John Legend are coming back to Season 22 of The Voice. Gwen Stefani is also making a comeback and will replace Ariana Grande, who first joined the show in Season 21. Now, it looks like the “Havana” singer will be filling in for Kelly, who wants to take some time off work.
Camila Cabello is joining Season 22 of The Voice
Camila Cabello announced on Sunday, May 15 that she’s joining Season 22 of The Voice. She will serve as a full-time coach alongside Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend. Per TVLine, Camila will replace Kelly, who is taking a break for the summer. She previously served as an advisor during Season 21 for Team John Legend.
The Voice coach wants to enjoy summertime with her kids. She is stepping away from the long-running competition for the first time since she became a full-time coach in Season 14. Camila shared the news on Sunday afternoon in a TikTok video. In the clip, the pop star sings along to “Grace Kelly” by Mika alongside Gwen, Blake, and John.

They originally shared a video of just the three on Friday. They saved her announcement until this weekend. “#Duet this if you’re going to be a Coach on #TheVoice this fall,” the caption reads.
Camila shared the same video to her own TikTok account with the caption, “See you this fall #TheVoice.” Season 21 of The Voice wrapped up in December 2021 with Ariana, Blake, John, and Kelly. The American Idol alum won that season with her act, Girl Named Tom.
Camila has plenty of experience with singing competitions. She competed and won The X-Factor with the former girl group Fifth Harmony.
Kelly Clarkson steps back from her coaching duties
The Voice is gearing up for Season 22 in a big way. Once again, the show is hoping to attract a younger crowd with the attention of Camila Cabello. As for Kelly, she’s not planning to return for another season of the show. A new interview from this week shows that she wants a summer break.
Kelly spoke to radio host Elvis Duran about her summertime plans. The songstress wants to take time off. She’s been turning down opportunities left and right. Kelly has reflected on her life since she turned 40 this year.
“I literally said ‘no’ to everything this summer,” Kelly said on the Elvis Duran And The Morning Show. “I will not do anything this summer. Since I was 16 years old, I haven’t had a summer off. This is my first summer off.”
The Voice will start shooting the blind auditions in June. Promos and interviews for the new season begin in August. Kelly wants to take a break from all that this summer. The Kelly Clarkson Show will also be on hiatus until Fall 2022.
