Is NBC’s ‘American Song Contest’ Renewed For Season 2?

Season 1 of NBC’s American Song Contest ended this week. Fans are curious to learn if there will be a second season. It had a strong start since singing competition shows are popular on the network. Typically, if a new series is doing well, it immediately gets renewed for the following season.

The show is an American spinoff of the Eurovision Song Contest, also known as ESC. The European Broadcasting Union organizes the international songwriting competition, which is globally popular. The original version represents contestants from participating European countries, while the American version represents those from the 50 states.

What was Season 1 all about?

Season 1 of the American Song Contest had an impressive roster of singers. The finalists included Alabama’s Ni/Co, American Samoa’s Tenelle, Colorado’s Riker Lynch, Connecticut’s Michael Bolton, Kentucky’s Jordan Smith, North Dakota’s Chloe Fredericks, Oklahoma’s Alexa, Tennessee’s Tyler Braden, and Texas’ Grant Knoche.

The contestants competed for America’s votes. The viewers would vote for which one they liked the most. Of course, most were dedicated to their home state. Here is the official synopsis for the American Song Contest Season 1:

“Music performances competing to win the country’s vote for the best hit song. A solo artist, duo, or band will represent each location and perform an original song across three rounds. Music performances competing to win the country’s vote for the best hit song.”

The winner of Season 1 of the American Song Contest was Alexa. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, fans wondered why Braden ended up at the bottom. Some of them think he was more talented than Alexa. Meanwhile, others thought the show had too many country singers this season.

Even with the mixed results, the singing competition was a dud. Still, it featured a wide variety of professional artists during Season 1. If there is a second season, the rules are likely to stay the same. Most of the artists who competed were either solo artists or in groups of six.

Will there be a Season 2 of the American Song Contest?

Season 2 of NBC’s American Song Contest has yet to be officially announced Fans will have to follow TV Shows Ace for the latest news and updates. Corey Blackburn and Meredith Ambrose are the producers behind the show. It’s likely that they may know if there will be a second season.

While Season 1 of the American Song Contest didn’t live up to the Eurovision hype, it’s likely that it could come back. It might have to follow the format of the original if it wants to attract the attention of viewers. In the meantime, Eurovision Song Contest 2022 premieres on Tuesday, May 10.
