Jesse Metcalfe Expresses His ‘Love’ Of Hallmark, Career Aspirations
In a recent interview, Jesse Metcalfe shared his love of working on Hallmark movies. What did he have to say? You may be surprised!
Desperate Housewives Alum Now East Coast Guy
Recently, Jesse Metcalfe was featured in Aventura Magazine. That is because the Dancing With The Stars alum has now moved from Los Angeles to Miami. He loves the Miami vibe and the beach. This allows him to be active and fit all year round.
Metcalfe explained that since the pandemic and lockdown, how things are done in Hollywood is now quite different. Thanks to Zoom or Skype, he can live anywhere and still be a thriving actor.
Moreover, he is gearing up his acting career toward character-based roles. Jesse shared that he wants to “move people.” He wants to deep dive into the character he is portraying.
One of the most important elements in my career now is to work with people who want to achieve a glance between art and commerce.
Jesse Metcalfe Shares His Feelings About Working With Hallmark
In talking about his transition from his early days on Passions and Desperate Housewives, he talked about acting with Bruce Willis, as well as his Hallmark movies.
I love Hallmark. They have been great to me.
This is not the only time he has singled out working with the feel-good network. In late March, Metcalfe went to Instagram to share a clip from A Country Wedding, where he starred alongside Autumn Reeser. He wrote a heartfelt post about making this movie.
This is the movie that started it all for me at Hallmark, and introduced me to the most incredibly loyal and supportive fan base I’ve ever known. Creating moments like this, for all of YOU, is what making movies is all about. Here’s to creating many more romantic, heartwarming, moving, emotional moments that get you all up in the feels!🥲🥰
What made this post even more adorable is that Autumn commented! She wrote, “Awwww I haven’t seen this in ages!! What a sweet scene — I always love working with you ✨”
Jessie Metcalfe Wants Future Roles To Be Musical
The multi-talented actor also wants to incorporate more music into his upcoming roles. “I like music in movies, and I love to play music as a hobby.”
I want to incorporate music into my acting roles more.
Jesse also sang and played guitar in a few of his Hallmark series, as well as in Chesapeake Shores. He also did an adorable duet of “It Had To Be You” with Jessica Lowndes in GAC’s Harmony Of The Heart. However, he wants to do more.
Any News On Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries?
Jesse Metcalfe fans may want to know what is going on with his Hallmark Signature Mystery Series, Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries.
Last September, Jesse spoke to ET about the series.
Yeah, I absolutely love doing the Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries movies. They’re great. The source material’s incredible. We actually have to dial it back from the books. The Philip R. Craig books are so irreverent. They’re actually a really fun read, but I love executive producing on that because I love being a part of every aspect of producing a show and I find it so rewarding.
Although Hallmark has not said anything official about the series, it was not that long ago that Hallmark’s social media commented on a question about this very thing.
Back on March 9, on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Facebook page, a fan asked, “What do they mean, Jesse Metcalfe is no longer with Hallmark?”
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries answered, “Jesse Metcalfe, who plays Trace Riley has decided to leave Chesapeake Shores early in Season Five. Jesse is a valued member of Crown Media Family, we look forward to continuing to work with him on projects including original movies on Hallmark Channel, as well as his Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Signature Mystery Series, Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries.”
Although in March 2021, they announced a fifth movie in Jesse’s mystery series, American Dreamer: A Martha’s Vineyard Mystery, they have yet to start filming this mystery.
Currently, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries are in a holding pattern, and they seem unsure of what direction they want to go.
However, there is always a need for more Hallmark romances and Christmas movies. Moreover, who is going to stop Jesse from picking up his guitar and singing a tune or two as well?
Jesse Metcalfe fans, do you want to see him back on Hallmark making more movies? What do you want to see him in?
