Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Daisy Kelliher admitted she was “traumatized” by her return. She’s back on Season 3 of the show, which premiered last Monday, February 21. Unfortunately, returning to the show wasn’t smooth sailing. Daisy admitted that she had “massive anxiety” about being on camera again.

The chief stew had to get accustomed to being filmed on her first season. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Daisy talked about her struggles with anxiety before. She eventually found a way to get used to being in front of the cameras. However, her nerves flared up again this year, leading to the “traumatizing” experience.

Talks about her “traumatizing” Below Deck Sailing Yacht experience

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Daisy opened up about her big return to Below Deck Sailing Yacht. She described the moment as “traumatizing.” The New Zealand native opened up about her struggles with anxiety. She admitted that she had a panic attack about returning to the Bravo series.

“I was traumatized,” she said via Zoom. “I had definitely a few sleepless nights. There were tears — I don’t normally cry — I think everyone was quite shocked at me crying. So yeah, traumatizing is the way I’m going to describe it.”

Season 3 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht is Daisy’s second time on the show. While it was “traumatizing,” it was easier this time around. Daisy was getting used to being on reality TV.

What also helped is that she had some familiar faces with her. Season 3 also saw the return of Captain Glenn Shephard, chief engineer Colin MacRae, and first mate Gary King. Daisy said she “trusted the process more.” She felt “more comfortable with the cameras,” especially since she was familiar with the boat and her job.

Her job has gotten easier as well. Daisy admitted that she didn’t have to worry about her crew members as much. She noted that her “patience is wearing thin” as she gets older. But, she eventually learned to relax into her role.

Daisy Kelliher opened up about her anxiety before

In an interview with Fox News last year, the Below Deck Sailing Yacht breakout star opened up about her anxiety. She admitted that she felt nervous about being on camera for the first time.

“Yeah, massive,” she told Fox News at the time when asked about having jitters about being filmed. “I was really worried about it joining the show. But you just don’t have any time to think because we are doing a real job and it is extremely fast-paced and high energy.”

The yachtie is doing just well. She fell into the role and became a fan favorite. What are your thoughts on Daisy’s on-screen personality? Sound off below in the comment section.
