Heather Dubrow says she hopes to normalize LGBTQ identities. The Real Housewives of Orange County star wants to use the show so that others could see themselves in her two daughters. Heather’s 15-year-old daughter, Kat, came out as a lesbian earlier this month. This comes two years after her sister, Max, came out as bi.

Both Kat and Max have appeared on this season of the show. They shared the struggles they had with their identities. Unfortunately, coming out hasn’t been easy for either of them. Now, Heather is hoping that viewers seeing her daughters will help “normalize” their LGBTQ identities.

RHOC star wants to “normalize” LGBTQ identities

Heather Dubrow made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She talked about her daughters’ stories on the current season. Andy said she’s “a great mom” with both of her daughters. He noted that Max and Kat keep their feet “on the ground” even with the struggles they faced.

Heather says she’s become a “proud” mom because of it. She’s amazed at how both of her daughters have come out in the public eye. The reality star thinks this “should be a normal conversation” in everyone’s homes, not just hers. Heather hopes to use the Bravo show to “normalize” LGBTQ identities similar to her daughters.

Later in the show, Andy asked Heather Dubrow how her kids “feel about being on the show” since “they’re sharing a lot of themselves.” She admits that it has been “a lot” for them to handle. Kat and Max had “mixed feelings” about appearing on RHOC. However, Heather thinks they’re “helping people and helping start conversations” about identities.

Having both of her daughters on the show “means a lot” to her. This comes after the beauty entrepreneur talked about her daughter Kat coming out as a lesbian. She is proud of who they’ve become. The reality star is also happy with their family dynamic.

Heather Dubrow wanted to share her family’s story on the show. She didn’t want to return to The Real Housewives of Orange County to flex her wealth, as previously assumed. She wanted to show her family as they are currently. Heather is also a mom to son Nick, 18, and daughter Coco, 11.

“We’ve got four kids, they are different genders, different sexualities, and all at interesting places in their lives, figuring out who they are and where they belong as humans,” Heather Dubrow said in an interview with People.
