Jessica Lowndes Inked GAC Deal, Can She Still Make Hallmark Movies?
Jessica Lowndes just signed a four-picture deal with GAC Media. Does this mean she cannot do another Hallmark or Lifetime movie?
Here are the details.
Can Jessica Lowndes Still Make Hallmark Movies?
According to Heavy who contacted a representative from GAC Media, Jessica Lowndes signed a non-exclusive deal.
This means that Jessica can star in Hallmark movies, as she did in one of 2021’s best movies, the hysterical Mix Up In The Mediterranean with Jeremy Jordan. The pair even sang a song together.
Not only can Jessica Lowndes still make Hallmark movies, but she can continue to make Lifetime movies as well. In 2020, she was in Too Close To Christmas with Chad Michael Murray.
That also means the 90210 alum could star in a Netflix, Peacock, or network television movie. There are no limitations on her only making a rom-com for GAC Media to air on GAC Family.
This is different from Danica McKellar’s GAC Media contract. She is not allowed to film a Christmas movie or a rom-com with any network except GAC.
What Was GAC Media Deal?
According to the press release sent to TV Shows Ace, Jessica Lowndes signed a deal to make four films. The deal includes starring, writing, producing, and directing original content.
In her first GAC movie, Harmony From The Heart, which she co-stars with Jesse Metcalfe, Jessica wore many hats. She wrote the movie. Jessica starred in the movie.
Jessica and Jesse sang a duet together, the classic song, “It Had to Be You.” In addition, Jessica was an executive producer for this movie.
The icing on top is that she wrote a special song, “11:11” for the movie.
No wonder GAC Media CEO and former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott gushed about Jessica’s talents on Twitter.
Jessica is an immensely talented actor, writer, producer & singer. We’re so proud of the fan-favorite films we have created w/her thus far & look forward to our continued partnership & bringing even more high quality movies to our passionate fans. @jessicalowndes #StoriesWellTold.
Jessica Lowndes Credits Former Hallmark CEO For Developing Talents
When TV Shows Ace recently spoke to Jessica Lowndes in an exclusive interview, she spoke about Bill Abbott. She credits the former Hallmark CEO with developing her talents.
Harmony From The Heart was the first movie that Jessica Lowndes wrote and put the words “The End” at the end of the script. However, the first script that got made into a movie was Hallmark rom-com, Over The Moon In Love. She was also the executive producer.
Lowndes credits Abbott for helping her develop these skills. Although we spoke six days before her big GAC Media announcement, she shared that she had some future plans for the new network.
Bill Abbott has always encouraged me to write. Bill always believed in me. He was why I did Over The Moon In Love. He always encourages me. Bill wants me to be hands-on. The first time I was an executive producer was in Over The Moon In Love. Now, I want to get into directing.
I will be doing more movies with GAC in the future. And, I am developing some ideas. I am going to be in an Italian movie and a Christmas movie.
Harmony From The Heart is currently airing on GAC Family.
