Jill Dillard ‘Coerced’ Into Megyn Kelly Interview, Husband Derick Claims
Former Counting On star Jill Dillard was “coerced” into her interview with Megyn Kelly, according to her husband Derick. This information was shared by the Duggar son-in-law as Jill and her sisters’ privacy lawsuit was dropped this week. So, what did Derick say about the interview and how it all went down?
On Wednesday, February 9, the news broke that the Duggar sisters’ lawsuit was dropped. Jessa Seewald, Jinger Vuolo, Joy-Anna Forsyth, and Jill were attempting to sue after the police department released reports to InTouch. The reports contained information about Josh Duggar’s molestations.
The sisters claim that the release of these reports led to emotional distress. However, the judge has now dismissed the lawsuit due to the sisters not proving their case. Jill and Derick issued a bold statement on the case being dropped, expressing their feelings on the situation.
So, where does Megyn Kelly come in?
Back in 2015, after the news of Josh’s molestations went public, Megyn interviewed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, as well as Jill and Jessa. In this interview, it was revealed that Jessa and Jill were two of Josh’s victims.
So, now, fans are wondering why Jill Dillard agreed to do this interview. Based on her recent statement, she seems very upset that the molestation details were made public, so fans don’t understand why she would agree to speak with Megyn Kelly.
Was Jill Dillard forced to interview with Megyn Kelly?
After Derick and Jill Dillard shared their statement on the lawsuit being dismissed, he spilled some details about the Megyn Kelly interview. One of Jill and Derick’s followers commented, “The problem comes when you trot out to Megyn Kelly and get paid for an interview about the situation you’re claiming to have been defamed by.” The user notes that it “doesn’t add up.”
Someone else chimes in, saying that “these people will do anything for perks and cash.”
After these fans commented, Derick decided to set the record straight. The Duggar son-in-law wrote, “Please don’t comment about things you know nothing about. We were not paid a single cent, and the whole ordeal was borderline duress/coercion.”
Jill Dillard’s husband continued, “We weren’t even being paid for the show that we had to film 10s of hours per week for, so what makes you think we would have received any pay or perks from this. The opposite is true, it was devastating. So, think before you speak.”
