Was Jill Dillard Really Her Siblings’ Mother? See Why

For years, Duggar critics have suspected that some of the oldest children, including Jill Dillard, played a big role in raising the youngest kids. In the past, Michelle Duggar has talked about her “buddy system,” in which the oldest kids are each paired with one of the younger kids, and they are “buddies.”

This was especially helpful when the family was out in public so they knew the little kids were accounted for and didn’t wander off.

However, in a newly resurfaced video clip, it seems that this might have gone further than the siblings simply being buddies or looking out for each other.

The clip suggests that Jill Dillard might have had to be her siblings’ mother at times when Jim Bob and Michelle weren’t around. So, what does the video show? And what does this tell us about Jim Bob and Michelle’s parenting?

Jill Dillard discusses ‘correcting’ her siblings in a resurfaced clip.

YouTuber Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball shared a resurfaced video of Jill Dillard talking about how she “corrected” her siblings’ behavior. Jim Bob and Michelle’s daughter is standing beside her other sisters, Jessa Seewald, Jana Duggar, and Jinger Vuolo. In this particular clip, Jill is doing all of the talking.

She talks about an experience she had with her little sisters, Jordyn, who was three years old at the time, and Josie, who was two. Jill explains that the girls came back from a tea party. They began throwing the teacups and saucers they brought home on the floor.

As it turns out, no one was supervising the toddler girls. In the video, Jill reveals what she did after getting Jordyn and Josie to stop. She and the little girls cleaned up the shattered dishes. Then, she said that they got “in trouble” and had a “little correction.”

Katie Joy points out, “It appears in Jill’s own words that the girls did discipline & spank their siblings when their parents weren’t there.”

Katie Joy also notes that “correction” in the Duggar family’s religion typically means spanking.
