A few weeks before Season 16 premiered on TLC, Christine Brown made the shocking announcement that she was leaving Kody Brown. Unlike his marriage to Robyn Brown, his union with Christine was spiritual, not legal.
TLC viewers have watched the split unfold, as tensions between Christine and Kody reached a fever pitch. The next episode airing Sunday, January 23, is aptly titled “The Beginning Of The End.” Viewers will likely see what pushed Christine over the edge and caused her to end their relationship.

Before Christine’s departure, Kody Brown boasted four wives – Janelle, Meri, Robyn, and Christine. As wife number three, Christine shares six children with Kody.

Twenty-five years and six kids is a long time. Throw in three other wives competing for his affection, and it’s not surprising Christine Brown had enough. In the preview for Episode 10 of Season 16, the reality star breaks down over a conversation she had with Kody.
As Christine tells it, Kody relayed to her that he no longer sees their marriage as an intimate one. However, “We’ll see if you can be a good sister wife,” he told her.
An emotional Christine admits to the camera that she’s not interested in staying in the marriage anymore. “I’m not okay with staying in a marriage where there’s no intimacy.”
Furthermore, she told Kody that his suggestion of a non-intimate marriage is “not enough” for her.
Christine isn’t the only wife Kody is no longer intimate with. He had a similar conversation with his first wife, Meri Brown. Unlike Meri, Christine doesn’t seem willing to accept being “just friends” with their husband.
Elsewhere in the clip, Christine said she wasn’t sure what she was going to do about her marriage to Kody. However, viewers already know the outcome. Now it seems they are about to get a closer look at how she came to that decision.

The future of Sister Wives in question
With Kody Brown down to just three wives, is the end of Sister Wives near? While the network has yet to reveal plans for Season 17, Meri and Robyn let it slip that they are already filming. Christine and Kody’s son, Paedon, revealed if Christine Brown will still be involved with the reality show after leaving the plural family.
