Erika Jayne To Forfeit Her American Express Card?
Erika Jayne may have to give up her American Express card. She received the credit card from Thomas Girardi’s law firm. In November 2021, Erika filed for divorce from the former hot-shot attorney. He’s no longer the biggest man in the law industry. He filed for bankruptcy amid their legal drama.
American Express somehow got involved. The company must submit statements from a card that Erika used during their marriage. However, the card in question originally belongs to her ex-husband. While Erika would like to see an end to this drama, it doesn’t look like there’s a happy ending anytime soon.
American Express could expose Thomas Girardi
Thomas used to own the former law firm, Girardi Keese. One of the bankruptcy cases is against his former law firm, Girardi Keese. The trustee that’s looking into this ongoing legal drama may expose the potential payments made for Erika. The payments span nearly over a decade. Erika received the American Express card when she was married to Tom.
It was supposed to be a business card. However, it was used for personal reasons. She might have to turn over her credit card. On Monday, January 10, Radar Online received the court documents that reveal a judge granted a motion for the trustee to share the credit card statements. This is in hopes that to locate his assets and repay his $101 million debt.
The trustee is asking the court to allow them to request records from American Express. Even though Thomas and his law firm provided statements, it did not provide the court proof that Thomas committed fraud against his former clients. They allege that he used the money to help fund his and his former wife’s lavish lifestyle. So, they’re hoping that the credit card statements will provide answers.
Not only did Girardi Keese offer the American Express cards to Erika, but also to several of their employees. This could prove that Thomas used his victims’ funds to help pay her bills. Both Thomas and Erika have been accused of stealing millions from their former clients. Erika has been dragged into his series of lawsuits.
Erika Jayne is starting over
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star already has nothing to her name. The court froze the assets she had during their marriage. In Season 11, she admitted that she had to start over financially. Erika claims that Thomas handled all of her finances. She did not know how to write a check or use an ATM machine.
In March 2020, she opened up a bank account. During the RHOBH Season 11 reunion, Erika revealed that the show is her sole source of income. She has since launched her new line of hair extensions, which cost upwards of $700. Erika also had to downsize her lifestyle and move into a smaller, million-dollar home.
