Erika Jayne wants a different storyline for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 12. The main storyline in Season 11 was about her divorce from her estranged husband Thomas Girardi and the embezzlement case. Bravo wanted to move forward with filming the next season so they could capture the drama as it unravels in real-time. However, Erika wants a “lighter” storyline.
As for her, she wants to move past the financial and business dealings. While she’s entangled in the mess, the Pretty Mess author no longer wants to be part of it. During the reunion special episodes, Erika made it clear that she wants to move on from it. Since the case is still ongoing, it’s going to come up.
Who’s returning to RHOBH Season 12?
This should come as no surprise to fans. Since production resumed this month, much of the cast will look the same as Season 11. Of course, Erika Jayne will return due to her legal drama. She will reunite with her co-stars Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Garcelle Beauvais, Lisa Rinna, Sutton Stracke, and Crystal Kung-Minkoff.
Kathy Hilton will be the funny “friend of” the Housewives. Producers didn’t want to miss out on the legal drama. However, Bravo will find itself in the midst of the legal battle. The network has already been subpoenaed for unaired footage of Erika. Attorney Jay Edelson would rather if Bravo cooperated with the case rather than focus on ratings.
“Producers didn’t want to miss anything with Erika. All of the ladies are returning including Kathy as a friend,” the insider told Hollywood Life. “She really enjoyed her experience more than she thought she would and she will never be full-time. She’s really glad she did the show. As of now, nobody new has been introduced to the group and it’s looking like it’ll be the same cast.”
This is not surprising. Kathy Hilton quickly became a fan favorite. Fans love her more than they do Kyle. At first, fans weren’t on board with the idea at first, but now they can’t get enough of her.
Erika Jayne wants a “lighter” storyline
Filming for RHOBH Season 12 started on Tuesday. They will continue with the Erika Jayne storyline from last season. However, she wants to have a “lighter storyline” and a “fun season.” She doesn’t want to focus so much on the drama.
Instead, she wants to shift the focus onto her dating life. Erika will dip a toe into the dating pool after ending her marriage to Thomas Girardi in November 2020. This may come as a shock to fans since the two still talk on a daily basis. When she spoke of their divorce to her co-stars, she said she imagined herself holding his hand on his death bed.
While she isn’t “focused on dating,” she still has her pick of men. But that doesn’t mean she will talk about her love life on the show. As fans already know, Erika is tight-lipped with most of the details of her personal life. She doesn’t “see the point” when sharing her dating life since she hasn’t chosen a “specific suitor.”
“She’s trying the dating pool because she’s ready to move on with her life,” the insider continued. “She’s excited to fall in love again. She wants to keep that very private, but she’s feeling excited about this and happy in her life right now.”
