Ricard Foyé is one of the most talked-about players from the new season of ‘Survivor’. His hilariously turbulent relationship with Shan and quietly snarky confessionals made him a fan-favorite amongst an already very popular cast.

Near the end of his time in the game, he shared a very intimate and emotional conversation with tribemate Xander. Ricard made a big reveal during the conversation about something he’d withheld the entire game up until that moment. Ricard cried, Xander cried, the audience cried. Ricard Foyé’s Big (Or Little) Surprise
Ricard revealed to Xander that he joined ‘Survivor’ whilst his husband was in the third trimester of pregnancy. Ricard revealed the harsh emotional consequence of coming to play the game: that he had no idea if his new child had arrived yet or not.
It was one of the biggest tear-jerking reveals of the season that acted as the swan song of Ricard’s game, as Xander and the other tribemates voted him out at the tribal council that followed. It may seem like a harsh follow up to such a vulnerable reveal, but Ricard was a shoo-in to sweep the jury and win the game had Xander helped him survive that tribal. Such is the nature of ‘Survivor’
The finale of Season 41 aired this month (December 2021). 7 months after, the finale was filmed in Fiji and the filming of Season 42 began. So what is the end result of Ricard’s story of new fatherhood? Did he make it home in time for the birth of his second child? Or was his baby waiting for him when he touched down back in the USA?

Ricard confirmed on his Instagram that his son was born on June 1st, 2021. Meaning he did make it home with time to spare for the birth! In the post, he says the boy’s name is Lucia Sebastian Foye.
He and his husband have undoubtedly had their hands full between two young children, Ricard’s newfound fame, and the ongoing grievances caused by this unending pandemic. It’s unlikely that sleep is on the horizon for Ricard, as it so seldom is for new parents, but hopefully, a return to the game he nearly dominated is somewhere around the corner. The ‘Survivor’ fandom would certainly love to see him back.
