Netflix Movie ‘Heart Of Stone’ With Gal Gadot: What We Know

Popular actress Gal Gadot is in the headlines a lot lately including her role in the Netflix movie Red Notice with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. While we are already looking forward to that movie, it seems another Netflix/Gadot film is on the horizon. In fact, she will be starring in a big-budget, espionage action-thriller titled Heart of Stone. There isn’t a huge amount of information but read on to find out what we do know so far.

Gal Gadot in the Netflix Original movie Heart of Stone

Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress who made her film debut in the fourth of the Fast and Furious franchise of movies. No stranger to exciting films, Gadot went on to play the role of Wonder Woman in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Meanwhile, she reprised her role as Wonder Woman in the 2017 film of the same name. Moreover, Gal also starred in Justice League in 2017.

It was recently reported here that Gadot will be starring with Dwayne and Ryan Reynolds in the big-budget Netflix Original film Red Notice. However, it turns out Gal has another adventure and action type of film in the works.

Reportedly, there was a heated and competitive bidding war for the rights to Gadot’s next movie, Heart of Stone, with Netflix being the winner. While we know this will be an espionage-action thriller, no news is out yet as to other cast members.

Who is behind the Original film?

Skydance Media Production Company is developing the movie. The company’s previous projects include Mission: Impossible: Fallout, The Old Guard, Top Gun: Maverick, Annihilation and more. Netflix is reportedly hoping that the new film Heart of Stone will be just the first of a new female-centric espionage franchise.

The movie will be directed by Tom Harper, known for his work on The Aeronauts, Peaky Blinders, Wild Rose, War & Peace and many more. Meanwhile, the script is by Greg Rucka (The Old Guard) and Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures).

Producers for Heart of Stone include Skydance Media’s David Ellison, Bonnie Curtis, Dana Goldberg, Julie Lynn, Don Granger, Jaron Varsano alongside Gadot herself.

Plot and release date of Heart of Stone

At the time of writing, little is known about the plot of the Netflix Original movie. All we know for now is that it moves in the general direction of a female-led version of Mission: Impossible or the 007 franchise.

At this date, Heart of Stone is in active development. However, production will depend on Gadot’s availability as she has several other projects on the go right now. Meanwhile, thanks to issue 1263 of Production Weekly, we do know the filming location is Shepperton Studios in the UK.

Obviously, at this time there is no clue as to the release date of the Netflix Original Heart of Stone but it will likely be in 2023.
