Will Netflix Release Season 2 Of K-Drama ‘A Business Proposal’?

Season 1 of the Netflix K-Drama A Business Proposal enjoyed excellent viewership on the streamer. In fact, it is one of the best K-Dramas in 2022 so far, with more than a hundred million viewing hours from subscribers. However, despite the success of the first season, fans don’t know if Business Proposal will enjoy a second season.

The internationally licensed South Korean drama series A Business Proposal is based on the webtoon novel The Office Blind Date. Meanwhile, the K-drama series is directed by Park Seon Ho with Han Sul Hee and Hong Bo Hee as scriptwriters.

The romantic story features Shin Ha Ri, who has been single for a long time but has had a crush on her friend for years. However, when she finds out he has a girlfriend, she is left very sad. This leads to her turning to her friend Jin Young Seo for support.

Meanwhile, Young Seo suggests Ha Ri go on a blind date on her behalf. However, she has the intention of turning down the event, only to discover that her date is none other than Kang Tae Moo, CEO of the company she works for.

Will the series be renewed for Season 2?

Currently, the Netflix renewal status is “pending,” with its last update on April 12, 2022. While A Business Proposal has been extremely popular on the streamer, renewal is not up to the service. Instead, it is up to the K-Drama’s distributor SBS and its producer Kross Pictures.

For this reason, the series is an internationally licensed Original and is not produced by Netflix. However, Netflix could be highly influential in any decisions made over A Business Proposal, so it is possible it will be renewed for Season 2. However, fans shouldn’t get too excited yet.

Meanwhile, during the past weeks, A Business Proposal has stood out in the streamer’s global top ten Non-English TV list. In fact, during the period February 28 to April 3, the show had a total of 100,840,000 million viewing hours. Also, this viewership doesn’t take into account the data for the final two episodes, so it will likely be much higher.

Does A Business Proposal need a Season 2?

While fans who love the series will be disappointed, the K-Drama doesn’t really need a second season. At the end of Season 1, the love stories of Ha Ri and Tae Moo, as well as Yeong Seo and Sung Hoon were left on a happy note.

While admittedly drama could be crafted from Tae Moo and Yeong Seo’s respective families, it would seem superficial. As noted by What’s on Netflix, this is due to the fact that Tae Moon already has his family’s approval, while Yeong Seo had removed herself from her father’s influence.
