Lori Loughlin entered prison earlier in November for her two-month stay behind bars. This is after she and Giannulli pleaded not guilty in April 2019 in the college admissions scandal. In May, Giannulli pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. This led to him in August facing a sentence of five months in prison. He also faces a $250,000 fine, two years of supervised release and 250 hours of community service.

Giannulli was spotted leaving an office building in Beverley Hills on Monday this week. He was barely recognizable, sporting a shaved head and a long gray beard. While the shaved head is something new, Giannulli has worn a beard in the past. Since their arrest in 2019, he has been photographed on several occasions with facial hair.

Charges against Loughlin and Giannulli

The couple stands accused of agreeing to pay bribes in a total of $500,000 to USC. The bribes paid for their two daughters to be designated as recruits to the USC crew team. This was despite the fact that the two girls did not participate in the crew team and was set to facilitate their admission to USC.

The former Fuller House and When Calls the Heart actress pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Loughlin was sentenced to two months behind bars, which she is currently serving.

Loughlin and Giannulli’s two daughters, Olivia Jade Giannulli, 21 and Isabella Rose Giannulli, 22, will be spending Thanksgiving without their parents. However, it is possible that Loughlin could be home in time for Christmas.

Currently, Lori’s release date is Sunday, December 27. However, Yahoo notes that according to documents obtained by E! News, “The Bureau of Prisons may release an inmate whose release date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday.” This is also the case when it falls on the last preceding weekday. This applies unless it is necessary to detain the inmate for another jurisdiction seeking custody under a detainer. It also applies if there is any other reason which might indicate that the inmate should not be released until the inmate’s scheduled release date.

Following this reasoning, Loughlin could be released on Thursday, December 24, as this is the last precedent weekday before the holiday and the weekend.

Daughters facing a different holiday season this year

Loughlin and Giannulli revealed their fear of going to jail. This was due to the spread of COVID-19 within the prison system. While their daughters were distraught over their parents’ prison sentences, they are grateful that their mother’s sentence is only two months. Understandably, they are anxious, knowing this will be a very different and hard holiday season this year.
