’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Elizabeth’s Dad Accused Of Not Paying Child Support And Tenant Scams
Elizabeth Potthast and Andrei Castravet of 90 Day Fiancé fame are not fan favorites on the TLC reality show. This is because Andrei gets a lot of criticism from fans and viewers over his ability to support his family. It turns out it is not only fans bashing Elizabeth’s husband. Her American family is also skeptical about the Moldovan TLC reality star. Despite this, in a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black (excuse the cliché), it turns out Liz’s dad, Chuck, is also no angel.
Problems between 90 Day Fiancé stars Andrei and Chuck
Elizabeth’s family is skeptical about the TLC reality star’s ability to support his family after meeting Andrei in Moldova. Her dad, Chuck Potthatt, is by far the loudest critic. However, as reported here, Chuck himself is not a stranger to legal problems.
The latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? reveals Andrei’s and Elizabeth’s families “enjoying” dinner together. Elizabeth’s brother, Daniel, keeps pressing Andrei as to why he left Moldova in the past and moved to Ireland. Chuck is also concerned about this factor. As the meal continues, Andrei and Daniel end up confronting each other over the dinner table.
In this scene, a preview is revealed as to what will happen in the next episode of the TLC reality star. The scene follows Daniel questioning Andrei about his reluctance to speak about his past.

Chuck and his dodgy past
While it hasn’t cropped up on 90 Day Fiancé, Chuck has multiple legal issues in his past. As noted by The Blast, news recently came of Chuck’s arrest in 2009 for skipping child support payments. In fact, Liz’s dad faced a contempt of court charge for not paying $17,564 in missed child support payments. It is difficult to criticize another father with this hanging in your background. While it is unclear what happened in this case, there is more.
As reported, Potthast was allegedly scamming tenants through his CDC Capital Investments LLC business. According to said tenants, they were being forced to leave rented properties as they were being foreclosed with little notice. Chuck also reportedly threatened to charge tenants three times the normal rate should they refuse to leave. On top of this, when Chuck and his son Daniel were asked about this issue, there was no response – crickets and nothing more.

Another issue was reported in 2017 by Starcasm relating to the arrests of Charles Potthast Jr. and Jen Potthast in 2005. The charge? Driving with a revoked, canceled or suspended license. 2008 saw Elizabeth’s sister, Rebecca, arrested on the same charge at the age of 22. So far, no scandal appears to relate to Elizabeth herself, so there is that. However, Chuck had better stop attacking his son-in-law for his past, while having such a colorful history of his own.
