Melody admits that in real life, she is nothing like her character Nikki Newman. However, there has been plenty of drama in her personal life, along with many catastrophes, sorrow and heartbreak.
Her character, Nikki Newman grew from being a stripper to a heroine, but Melody’s journeys through life have also been troubled. Melody was brought up by her cruel, hoarder grandmother, who acted as her tough manager. Like many others in the industry, she went on to suffer abuse at the hands of men in the TV and film industry.
While managing to grow her career under difficult circumstances, Melody went on to act in a number of feature films. She starred with the likes of Clint Eastwood and Alfred Hitchcock. As Scott went on to finally take control of her own life, she moved on to The Young and the Restless. She is still there after 40 years.
