Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin had his world flipped upside down when his wife was suddenly arrested for plotting his death. Victoria Goodwin was taken into custody last week after it was discovered she allegedly hired a hitman to kill Aaron while he was filming the show with Zak Bagans. Now, the Florida inmate who was helping Victoria has been identified. Even more terrifyingly, the inmate is a convicted murderer. Keep reading to get all the details.
Ghost Adventures Star Aaron Goodwin Unharmed Following Murder Plot
Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin is reportedly shattered after his wife Victoria was arrested on March 6. She was arrested in Clark County, Nevada and charged with solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder. TMZ first reported the shocking news.
She remains behind bars on a $100,000 bond and will appear in court on March 25. Since the plot was uncovered to kill Aaron, he is getting court-ordered protection from her and she is not allowed to contact him for the next three months.
The hit was supposed to take place October 2 when Victoria provided the inmate with all the specific details about where Aaron was staying in California while filming Ghost Adventures. The inmate was in contact with the hitman who was supposed to carry out the plan. A text found from the inmate in Florida was sent to the hitman saying, “He’s asleep right now in the hotel room … I need to know what’s going on. Can I get an update. Was it done?”

Victoria allegedly had $11,515 to pay for the hit on her husband. Thankfully, the murder was not carried out and Aaron is safe.
In one of the other messages found on the cell phone, Victoria said, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.”
Who Is The Florida Inmate?
The Florida inmate who was helping Victoria Goodwin kill her husband is Grant Amato. To add more shock to the case, he is in prison serving three lifetime sentences for killing his parents and brother.
His story was actually featured in a 2024 true crime docuseries called, Ctrl+Alt+Desire. He reportedly killed his parents and brother after they banned him from communicating with a webcam model named Sylvie from Bulgaria. He had stolen more than $210,000 from his family to contact this woman.

They reached a point where they told him he had to follow their rules or get out. So, he killed them.
The murders took place in 2019 and Grant tried to set up the scene to look like a murder-suicide that was carried out by his brother, whom he actually killed as well.
After their deaths, a 24-hour manhunt took place. When they found Amato they also discovered more than $600 in tokens purchased with the family’s credit card so he could contact Sylvie.
Amato has appealed his conviction and it has already been denied twice.
As for Victoria Goodwin, she contacted Amato after seeing the documentary. They began communicating in May 2024. The murder plot was supposed to be carried out on October 2. His contraband phone was confiscated on October 3. As far as everyone knows, communication with him ceased in November 2024 for Victoria.
According to Entertainment Tonight, there were messages found in the phone that also indicated Victoria and Grant were in love. The report also addressed the reason it took from October to March to arrest Victoria. It was noted that it took that long for the cell phone contents to be analyzed.

What Has Victoria Said?
When the Ghost Adventures star’s wife was arrested, Victoria Goodwin denied the allegations. She says she thought the money was for a cell phone. She also claims she has no recollection of sending the messages.
Plus, she says she never wanted Aaron dead, she was daydreaming because they were having marital issues.
Zak Bagans and the others in the Ghost Adventures team are doing their best to comfort and support Aaron during this devastating time.
