What We Know About Joan Vassos’ Season
Joan Vassos will make history in the Bachelor franchise next month. The school administrator from Maryland, 61, was a contestant on The Golden Bachelor. She left the show early to return home due to a family matter. It was announced in May that Joan is the first-ever Golden Bachelorette.
ABC searched and found 24 men of a certain age who, like Joan, are looking for a second love later in life. She lost her husband of 32 years in 2021 to cancer.
Bachelor Nation fans have already met one of Joan’s suitors. Mark Anderson has a family connection to the franchise. Kelsey Anderson is his daughter.
The Golden Bachelorette premieres on ABC on Wednesday, September 18.
Kelsey Anderson’s Special Appearance On Golden Bachelorette
Viewers first met Mark Anderson when Kelsey took Joey home to New Orleans for her Hometown date. He made a huge impression on fans for his humor and love toward his daughter.
Kelsey revealed that her dad hadn’t really dated since her mom died from breast cancer in 2018. She urged him to apply for The Golden Bachelorette and he was cast on Joan’s season. But her involvement didn’t end there.
A new preview of the upcoming Golden Bachelorette season teases Kelsey Anderson making a special appearance. The clip begins with Kelsey getting out of the limo at the Bachelor mansion. After filming Jenn Tran’s season overseas, the show returns to the famous mansion for Joan Vassos’ season.
Joan Vassos’ mouth drops open in surprise when she sees Kelsey. After approaching Joan, Kelsey looks back at the limo and says she has someone to introduce to Joan.
Kelsey’s dad, Mark, shyly gets out of the limo and walks toward Kelsey and Joan. The preview then goes on to show Joan and her contestants’ excitement about the season.
