Joan Vassos shares thoughts after sad exit

Once a mother, always a mother. Golden Bachelor contestant Joan Vassos left the show Thursday night. She was having a great time and connecting with Gerry Turner when she had to leave. She received a text from her daughter saying she was needed at home.

Her daughter had a c-section just 15 days before Joan left for filming. She told Gerry, “My daughter just had a baby. It wasn’t a normal, everyday delivery at all. Things go wrong. Even if everything went right, you need your mom. My family will always be first. Once you become a mom, you’re always a mom, even when your kids are older. Nothing is more important.”

Fans were very disappointed to see her leave and many hope she is the Golden Bachelorette. Some felt her daughter was being selfish for asking her to come home.

Now that it’s done and the episode has aired Joan went to Instagram to share her thoughts. She first said, “A huge thank you to everyone expressing their concern for my family. It’s a privilege to be a mom to four amazing kids and a grandmother (they call me Jojo) to two beautiful grandchildren. But once a mom, always a mom and sometimes the timing doesn’t work out with finding love.”

She noted that everyone was good now.

She shared a second heartfelt post

Joan Vassos went to Instagram a second time and shared an adorable photo with Gerry Turner. She said that her journey to find love took a little detour. She said, “I traded the mansion for motherhood and headed home to be with my family. Family comes first, period. Once a mother, always a mother, I’ll always choose my kids first.”

Joan went on to express gratitude for those who reached out with concern for her and her daughter. She said everyone is now healthy again. She also made it clear she’s not giving up on love. Joan noted that she would see where the journey would lead her next. Many hope it’s straight back to the mansion as the first-ever Golden Bachelorette.

Fans continue to hope the best for Joan and some are even thinking she could make a surprise return to the show.

  1. I enjoy the Golden Bachelor much better than the bachelor show. Maybe because I am 84 years young. Please continue these episodes.
