Disney Star Skai Jackson Arrested For Battery, Reveals Pregnancy
Former Disney Channel star Skai Jackson was arrested for domestic battery. The incident happened while she was with her boyfriend at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood. Someone called the police when they saw her begin to attack her boyfriend physically, and they arrested her shortly after that.
Here is what happened with Skai and her arrest.
Skai Jackson Arrested For Battery
Skai Jackson, an actress who made her name on the Disney Channel shows Jessie and Bunk’d as a teenager, was arrested on August 9. She was with her boyfriend at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood when security noticed the two starting to fight. Security called the police when Skai pushed her boyfriend more than once.
The guards detained both Skai and her boyfriend until the police arrived. When the police watched the footage and saw Skai reportedly shoving her boyfriend two times, they arrested her (via TMZ). They charged her with misdemeanor domestic battery and released her a few hours later with a $20,000 bond.
The LA County District Attorney’s Office will decide if charges are warranted in the case. Her arraignment at Van Nuys Superior Court is scheduled for Oct. 11. Skai Jackson has not responded to questions about the arrest. However, both Skai and her boyfriend denied to the police that there was any physicality, despite the officers reportedly looking at the footage and seeing it before arresting her.
According to the detective assigned to the case, they didn’t deny an incident but did “downplay” it (via Fox News).
Skai Jackson Says She Is Pregnant & Getting Married
Skai Jackson did make one comment about the incident. In addition to saying there was no physicality, Skai also told the police that she is pregnant and that they are engaged to be married.
There isn’t much known about Skai’s boyfriend, as she hasn’t shared anything about him on social media. They also live a private life, so since she was the only person arrested, there is no word on his name.
Since her breakout on Disney Channel, Skai has found more acting roles here and there. She voiced Glory Grant in several Marvin Rising episodes and Summer on the Netflix series DreamWorks Dragons: Rescue Riders. She appeared in Dancing with the Stars in 2020 and was the 10th person eliminated. On the show, she was partnered with Alan Bersten.
Skai was also a “Singing Bust” in 2021’s Muppets Haunted Mansion and appeared in the movie Sheroes in 2023. Before her time on the Disney Channel, she also voiced the character of Little Fish on Bubble Guppies and had small roles in Royal Pains, Boardwalk Empire, Arthur, The Smurfs, and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Not only do you clearly not have enough information about this event to be talking about it in the first place, but even if you did, that wouldn’t lessen the consequences of releasing that information to the world. As a publisher, you have an ethical responsibility to think about how what you say might effect the lives of other people, and that means you should probably wait until you at least have the names of all the people involved before posting a story about them. What you have essentially done is post a “he said she said” with just enough information to make it seem like a famous former child star is a domestic abuser. Being a clickbate news site isn’t a compliment, it makes you and whoever you work for look very unprofessional. Do Better.
