‘DWTS’ Jenna Johnson’s Son Hospitalized For Illness
As a parent, dealing with a sick child can be one of the most heartwrenching experiences. Dancing With The Stars pros Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy have experienced this firsthand multiple times now.
Their young son, Rome Chmerkovskiy, was recently hospitalized once again. Fans frequently see the little boy in excellent spirits on his parents’ social media pages. But it seems like a recent illness prompted his parents to seek urgent medical care.
Read on to learn about what happened and his current status.
Jenna Johnson’s Little Boy Has Been Struggling With Illnesses All Year
Being a parent was a lifelong dream for Jenna Johnson. She adores the world of ballroom dance but loves being a mother more. Although fans love watching Rome Chmerkovskiy grow up through his parents’ social media pages, many are now very worried for him.
Jenna shared that the little boy is in the hospital once again.
This wouldn’t be the first time baby Rome had a medical emergency. Back in March, Jenna revealed that Rome had a very serious virus. Then in May, she shared a photo of the baby with paramedics. He went through a bout of croup in the spring, which terrified his parents.
As per the Mayo Clinic, “Croup refers to an infection of the upper airway, which becomes narrow, making it harder to breathe. Croup also causes a cough that sounds like barking.”
Now it seems like croup is at work again. Jenna Johnson had to take her young son back to the hospital for his ongoing illness.
“Croup again for this little guy,” the professional dancer shared on her Instagram stories. In the image, she’s sitting in the hospital bed with an arm around Rome to comfort him.
Hopefully, this won’t be a very long hospital visit and Rome’s medical team can help him. The last time he had croup, Jenna revealed he was back to playing with his toys at home after a few days.
What’s Ahead For Baby Rome’s Parents?
The new season of Dancing With The Stars is just around the corner and both Jenna and Val are expected to compete. They have a wide network of friends and family who can help care for Rome while they’re in rehearsals. But in a medical emergency, both Val and Jenna would likely immediately drop everything to attend to the baby.
It’s possible that at least one of them might sit the season out to keep an eye on Rome.

See about inhalers for the breathing. if used properly they can prevent croup from happening by using the inhalers as preventive therapy. A nebulizer would work as well. My daughter had to use them when she was small. She is now an adult and only uses inhalers when she has bronchitis
