Jenna Johnson & Val Chmerkovskiy’s Son Needed Immediate Medical Attention

DWTS pros Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy longed to become parents. They finally got their wish on January 10, 2023 when Rome was born.

Although the family is incredibly happy together, Rome has had some health issues in the past few months. In March, Jenna shared that Rome was fighting off a virus. At the time, she shared that the baby had a fever of 102.6 and stomach pains. His health seemed to improve over the following weeks.

However, Rome’s health required immediate medical attention yesterday.

Last night, Jenna shared a few photos to her Instagram story of her husband Val Chmerkovskiy sitting in an ambulance, holding baby Rome. Paramedics attended to the little boy, who was beaming at the healthcare workers. Jenna noted that the baby was in good spirits, even while being “insanely sick.”

Thankfully, Rome feels much better now.

“Thank you to everyone who reached out!! Rome is doing much better today,” Jenna shared on her Instagram stories, along with a prayer emoji. “He caught a bad case of croup. Had some troubles getting enough oxygen during a coughing attack in the middle of the night. We were all pretty hysterical and scared. Thankfully doing much better today after seeing the doctors.”

The professional dancer attached a photo of little Rome playing with a toy.

As per Johns Hopkins, “Croup is a disease that causes swelling in the airways and problems breathing. Children with croup often have a high-pitched ‘creaking’ or whistling sound when breathing in.”

The Family Seems To Be Resting At Home Together Now

Being a first-time parent can certainly come with its share of challenges. Jenna and Val’s fans know they must have been absolutely terrified when Rome had breathing problems.

Thankfully, it seems all is well now. Jenna will likely keep updating fans if anything changes with Rome. After all the medical problems he’s had over the past few months, fans certainly hope he will be strong and healthy for the rest of the year.
