Emily Bering Riedel Makes No Return?
Bering Sea Gold fans heard that after the birth of her son, Arthur, Emily Reidel thought about retiring from mining. She didn’t appear in the teaser for Season 18, so she might not return. However, the teaser that dropped this week seemed very short. So, perhaps Discovery fans might spot her later.
Many viewers of Bering Sea Gold worried about cancellation because Emily told her fans that the film crew never filmed last summer. That’s when she first talked about perhaps not being with the show anymore. Still, some clues brought hope that it might still air in 2024..
A Premiere Date, Teaser & Some Faces
Some of the cast posts on YouTube, and Emily seems prolific. Despite what she said, other news leaked from those involved with the Discovery show. One of them claimed back in February, that they participated in filming the next season. Now that a teaser dropped, fans know that it’s definitely happening.
Fans on Reddit spotted information that Bering Sea Gold’s premiere drops on August 16. Soon, a poster arrived, and later, a link to the teaser on YouTube. You can watch it further down in this article. And, some known faces were spotted. They included Shawn, Vern, Chris McCully, and more. However, viewers didn’t see Zeke or Emily.

According to the Discovery Channel website, Season 18 of Bering Sea Gold does premiere on August 16, 2024. So, that fact was confirmed. In the comments, Bering Sea Gold fans spoke about it briefly, but without much excitement about it. Here are a few thoughts.
- Zeke has been a wildcard if he will be on the show season to season, I’d bet he pops up again if they keep filming. Emily not doing ice mining makes sense. Kind of feels like she’s focused on summer season as a business and without the show prob wouldn’t wanna do ice anyways…
- Winter Season 2023-2024 Ice Mining Promo shows Shawn, Kelly, Vern, Chris McCully. No Zeke. Emily was pregnant and wasn’t there.
- Hell yeah.
