Jefferson County Gets Own Series After Stint On ‘Live PD’
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office shared that it is getting its own series after a stint on Live PD. That was the name of On Patrol: Live before it was rebooted and rebranded. So, what will happen in this series and what can fans expect? More so, is there a way for followers to watch it? Keep reading for more details and answers.
Jefferson County Gets Own Series After Stint On Live PD
On Patrol: Live fans have so many favorite counties and officers that it would only make sense one would get a spinoff. In fact, it is surprising that more haven’t. At the same time, one fan favorite, Hazen Police Department out of Arkansas has openly said they do not have enough staff. They are a small department and do what they can to appear on OPL but it can be a struggle. That is why they cherish the breaks they take even if it is hard on the viewers.
Now, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office never made it to OPL but it was on the show’s predecessor, Live PD. It was featured in the show’s fourth season which aired in 2019. However, it seemingly made such an impact that it has now landed a show of its very own. According to CBS 42, which is straight out of Birmingham, Alabama, the series, Jefferson County Cam Watch, is set to start on Saturday, July 13th:
“Jefferson County Cam Watch” will premiere at 6:30 p.m. July 13 on CBS 42 and follow deputies with the JCSO as they go about their day-to-day tasks. The show will run every Saturday and will run through Aug. 24.”
What if you’re a fan who wants to watch it but does not have that channel? There is another option as the series will also air on JCSO’s YouTube page. So, what prompted the decision to create a show solely based around Jefferson County? Sheriff Mark Pettway released a statement to share what made it such a great idea:
“I have great appreciation for the unwavering dedication of our deputies, who work
tirelessly to prevent crime and arrest those that have harmed others. They deserve recognition and acknowledgment, and we believe this program can be invaluable as we continue our mission to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community; I believe this program will foster greater public appreciation.”
Fans may remember some of the deputies and they will have an opportunity to do things on their terms. It is unclear what will happen when the month and a half is over. Likely it will be based on fan response.
A New Era
Live PD was very successful during its run on A&E. Unfortunately, in 2020, there was a lot of tumult in the world, especially revolving around the police and protests so the show came to an end. Luckily for fans, it found new life on Reelz as On Patrol: Live. Airing Fridays and Saturdays, it is a heartstopping and engaging look inside what officers deal with in real-time. However, some diehard Live PD fans feel that it does fall short of the OG show. Still, they do appreciate it for what it is.
