Lainey Wilson Reveals Details About Future Of ‘Yellowstone’
Lainey Wilson opened up about the future of Yellowstone in a recent interview. Season 5, Part B is slated to hit Paramount+ later this year, and many people have been wondering about Wilson’s involvement as well as the potential storyline given Kevin Costner’s exit from the show. Keep reading to see what the country music star revealed about what fans can expect.
Lainey Wilson Is Still Unsure If She’ll Be Involved
The “Heart Like A Truck” singer attended the 2024 ACM Awards on Thursday night. While on the red carpet, she spoke to Entertainment Tonight about Yellowstone‘s highly-anticipated series finale.
When asked about whether or not she would be featured in part two of season five, Lainey Wilson said, “I literally still do not know, but I’m waiting on the call.” According to Wilson, her role on the show could be open to interpretation. So, she may or may not appear in the final episodes, but she would jump at the call if it comes.
Lainey Wilson has played the role of Abby on Yellowstone. Abby had a romantic relationship with Ryan, played by Ian Bohen. However, the couple’s relationship seemed to go downhill after Ryan agreed to head to Texas with the rest of the ranch. When it comes to whether or not fans will see closure in the on-screen relationship, Wilson has a few thoughts.
First and foremost, she says that the Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan knows what is going to happen to everyone’s character, including hers. “He’s got so many irons in the fire I don’t know how he does it,” the singer added. That being said, Wilson said she’d be “shocked” if Abby didn’t at least make an appearance in the series’ final episodes.
“I’ll be honest with you. I’d be shocked,” she said. “And I think how [series creator] Taylor Sheridan writes his stories, and he just has a beautiful way of bringing things back and letting things go — I’ll be shocked. So, we’ll see what happens.”
Actors Promise A Strong Finish For Yellowstone
Wilson’s update about Yellowstone comes just a couple of days after Kevin Costner opened up about rumors that he favored his Horizon film project over the Paramount show. “If you know me well enough, I made Yellowstone the first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong,” he said.
The future of Costner’s character on the show is still uncertain. There have not been any details about how they will close the storyline for John Dutton.
Casting drama aside, Ian Bohen said that the series finale will be the best fans could ask for.
“I don’t know that any show has finished this strongly ever,” he told ET at Stagecoach in April. “We’re expecting to have the best series finale in history. Overconfident maybe, but I think that’s what it’s going to be. We thank everyone for their patience… It’ll be worth the wait, I promise.”
The final episodes of Yellowstone are expected to be released on Paramount+ this fall.
