While appearing on Good Morning America, Demi Moore offered up an update on the status of Bruce Willis‘ condition.

On January 31, Moore stopped by Good Morning America to talk about her series, Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. The show is the second installment of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series. It is based on Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer.

Before time ran out during her interview, Moore gave an update on her ex-husband’s status and explained how her family is coping with his condition.

Demi Moore Says Bruce Willis Is ‘Doing Very Well’

Following a brief discussion about her inclusion in the “Brat Pack,” GMA co-host George Stephanopoulos asked Moore how Willis is managing his condition. “I think, given the circumstances, he’s doing very well,” Moore said.

Despite her desire to respect her ex-husband’s privacy, Moore revealed some wisdom that she shares with her family. “What I’ll share is what I say to my children. Which it’s important to just meet them where they’re at and not hold on to what isn’t, but what is. There’s great beauty and sweetness and loving and joy out of that.”

Co-host Michael Strahan then offered his sympathies to Moore and the Willis family. “Our thoughts are with him and the whole family,” he said.

Demi Moore Wants To ‘Stay In The Present’

In a March 2022 Instagram post, Bruce Willis’s daughter, Rumor Willis, publicly acknowledged her father’s condition for the first time. “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” she wrote.

“As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him. This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit. And wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”

On January 23, Demi Moore made an appearance on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, Radio Andy. She revealed her personal insight into dementia and offered up advice for families facing similar struggles. “I think the most important thing I could share is just to meet them where they’re at,” Moore said.

For Moore, being able to temper expectations is key to making the most of a loved one’s battle with dementia. “When you let go of who they’ve been or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present and take in the joy and the love that is present and there for all that they are, not all that they’re not.”
