‘Welcome To Plathville’ Isaac Plath Recovers From Addiction
Although Welcome To Plathville has gained a following, it is hard to keep up with the Plath family especially when there isn’t a current season airing. Yet, fans have breadcrumbs they can follow from some of the Plath family to keep them going until TLC releases new material. Recently, fans came across a new development in Isaac Plath’s life that has them chattering.
Isaac Plath Takes A New Path
In September, Welcome To Plathville star, Isaac Plath made a public post to reaffirm his faith. In the post, he shares:
“The Lord has done an amazing thing in my life and it all started when I accepted him as my personal Lord and savior!”
He then added a photo of his father, Barry Plath, baptizing him in a pool.
As he describes his journey, he says, “God changed my heart and gave me new desires. I was able to quit all my addictions as I was struggling with it before!” More so, he offers encouragement to others saying, “I strongly encourage those of you who are thinking about giving your lives to Christ to take the step of faith and put your trust in God! It’s the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life 🙏.” Then reaffirming to others who have made similar choices, he says, “To those of you who already have I encourage y’all to keep trusting God and know that you’re not alone in this fight!! Thank y’all for all the love and support it’s very much appreciated.”
Isaac Plath Recovers From Addiction
Although Isaac Plath did not go into details about his addictions, he did celebrate that he was no longer struggling with them. Additionally, he credits God for helping him overcome them. But just the mention of “addiction” had fans chomping at the bit to know the vice he was referring to in his message. On the Instagram post, fans went into rapid fire, both asking for specifics and defending his right not to tell.
- “What addictions?”
- “It’s really not appropriate to ask a child what addictions they are dealing with.”
- “The entire family has put their lives on television. Why is asking this inappropriate”
- “Because he is a minor. He didn’t put his life on television, his parents did. He isn’t required to tell us any part of his life.”
- Someone jokes, “He was addicted to da farm life.”
- “Yet he did tell us! So what’s wrong with asking for more details? He’s not an innocent bystander, the entire family is on tv for the attention & money.”
- “The parents and the older children put their ives on tv. The children didn’t. They do as they’re told. And if he wanted to say what addictions he would have posted it here. He didn’t, so it’s rude to ask.”
- “He shared with us what he wanted us to know, we aren’t entitled to know more just because he is on TV.”

A Fan Brings Up Isaac Plath’s Baptism And Addictions
On Reddit, a Welcome To Plathville fan posted:
- “Isaac got baptized the Brittany Dawn way.”
Then the user attached a screenshot of Isaac Plath’s baptism. Additionally, they continued to say:
- “Lydia’s post came up on my feed, and I was curious about how the other Plaths were doing besides Ethan and Olivia. I saw the pool baptism, and it immediately raised the Brittany Dawn spray tan-colored flags.”
Then the user pointed out:
- “Most comments were questioning what he was addicted to. Honestly, if he didn’t say ‘addictions,’ people would not have pried for answers. Was it related to Kim’s DUI? I thought he was in the car then, but I may be wrong.”
They also went on to note that they had hoped Isaac would move away from upbringing but he clearly chose that path. Then they questioned if he was just testing the waters as his sister, Moriah Plath did. Yet, maybe he became scared of what had happened to him thus the baptism.
Reddit Users Chime In
More Welcome To Plathville fans chime in on Isaac Plath and his decisions:
- “Imagine waking up at a hotel just trying to have a coffee by the pool and this is going on in the shallow end 👀.”
- “Good luck with the not jerking off or whatever.”
- “As someone who came from his background, I thought I had a porn addiction, a sex addiction, and a masturbation addition. Guess what? I was just a normal goddamn teenager.”
- “PSA jesus doesn’t promise as a believer all your naughty desires go away. I’m really getting tired of this Fake misleading testimonies. Can they be healed if addictions sure but whether or not you are has no bearing on your faith.”
Some Fans Discuss Isaac’s Statement
Many of the fans took off on Reddit about the religious ideals Isaac Plath portrays in his message. In particular, one person voices their opinion:
- “I can tell the are in a very Calvinist influenced church and they believe that if u aren’t living a certain way you aren’t really a believer so you hear these kind of testimonies that all your desire for sinnning it up goes away like he did here. It’s actually not biblical and destructive! It’s basically telling a homosexual you can’t be saved bc you have change first for God to save you or a drug addict sorry your outta luck you’re still drugged up bc whether we are an addict or something else we are all in the same boat before God and Jesus said hold my beer I’m gonna take care of this for them. Isaac doesn’t know it’s an error but he will be disillusioned when he realizes he’ll never measure up to whatever standards he thinks he has to meet.”
