Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist are opening up and revealing lessons they learned in their first marriage that they will carry over to their marriage together.
Bachelor Nation shared what the newlyweds had to say. Both had good answers when asked what they will bring to their new marriage. Gerry said, “The better the communication, the better the relationship. Even if it’s an uncomfortable topic, you have to get past it. You have to find resolve and you have to find a way to talk about things.”
Theresa said,
I would say pretty much the same thing. Don’t hold resentments, because it builds and becomes much bigger than it was originally. Talk to each other and not other people about your relationship, ever. That pits you against them and no matter how difficult the topic is, you should be on the same team and you have to talk about it.”
Both have had a lot of experience having been married to their first spouses for more than 40 years. Gerry and Theresa have the experience to make their marriage work and stick by each other through the hard times that may arise.
Their wedding subtly acknowledged their spouses
The Golden Bachelor Wedding aired live on Thursday night. Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist had a beautiful ceremony. They also acknowledged their first spouses while at the altar. They gave a subtle shoutout to those who had passed before them.
Their daughters also acknowledged that both Bill and Toni would be happy for them and give them their blessing.
The families are both happy that they have been united through Gerry and Theresa’s love.
Next up, the happy couple will be taking a honeymoon to Italy with the trip gifted to them by the show. After that, they have to make their final decision on where they will live.
