‘American Idol’ Fans Disappointed, Desmond Roberts ‘Deserved Better’
There are a lot of disappointed American Idol fans after Sunday night’s episode aired. On Sunday night, the top 14 were narrowed down to 12. Two talented singers went home. Tonight, during a live episode, the number remaining will decrease once again. After Monday night, there will be only ten competitors remaining. However, fans are still talking about who went home Sunday and how they really feel Desmond Roberts deserved better. Why do they think this? Keep reading to get all the details.
American Idol Fans Upset, Believe Desmond Roberts Was Incredible
Desmond Roberts has been a fan favorite since the auditions for this season of American Idol. Most agree they do not think he would have won, but do feel he should have made it further than he did. Unfortunately, Desmond and Amanda Barise were eliminated during Sunday night’s episode.
Judges couldn’t do anything to save them and had already stepped in and saved them both last week. So, these two had a great run, but sadly, their time on the hit competition show is over.
Fans are discussing Desmond being eliminated on social media platforms on Monday morning. Many feel he deserved so much better. Here is what some of them are saying:
- “His audition was one of my favorites! Loved his use of dynamics. He wasn’t going to win, but he definitely deserved better.”
- “He really deserved better. He did really good tonight”
- “His Titanium was insane, very underrated contestant!”
- “His was one of the few auditions that truly stood out to me vocally. Wasn’t a fan of all his song choices, but I thought he did fantastic tonight and deserved to make it a bit further.”
- “Desmond was so underrated. I honestly will miss his performances. I appreciate he was so versatile in each performance.”
So, while most thought he never had a chance to win, he did deserve to stick around a bit longer.
What Did The Judges Think Of His Performance?
American Idol judges praised Desmond Roberts for his performance on Sunday night. Luke Bryan told him he has a dynamic voice. Lionel Richie noted jokingly that he found some octaves he didn’t sing. Carrie Underwood said he brought the energy when it really needed to kick in.
Even with the compliments from the judges, he did not receive enough votes from fans to keep him around.
Now, two more contestants will be eliminated Monday night, bringing the final 10 into play. After Desmond and Amanda left, the final 14 are Filo, Mattie Pruitt, John Foster, Desmond Roberts, Jamal Roberts, Amanda Barise, Canaan James Hill, Josh King, Thunderstorm Artis, Gabby Samone, Breanna Nix, Kolbi Jordan, Ché and Slater Nalley.
On Monday night, these final 14 will take memorable moments from past seasons and recreate them. It will be fun to see what moments they all choose.
Fans will be voting once again Monday night to see which two will go home.
