There are many American Idol fans who do not like country superstar Carrie Underwood as a judge. Many are talking and say she is ruining the show. It seems their feelings toward her only get worse as the season continues. Why do they feel this way? Keep reading to get all the details.

American Idol Fans Not Happy With Carrie Underwood

American Idol fans are not happy with Carrie Underwood since she stepped in to replace Katy Perry as a judge. As a country superstar, Carrie is very loved and respected. Now, it seems fans remain divided on how they feel about her as a judge.

Their feelings continue to come to light, especially after the show aired a three-hour faith-based episode on Easter Sunday. Carrie was reportedly the judge who pushed the hardest for the special to happen. Some even wondered if it was part of her contract. It was the first time in 23 seasons that this has ever happened.

An insider for the show spoke with The Sun, saying that there were crew members who were not on board with the Easter special and felt it was highly inappropriate. It reportedly created tension beside the scenes.

Many say the show is not the same as it once was. They believe Carrie’s presence is “tarnishing” the show. The insider for American Idol said,

“I’ve heard people on set say that Carrie’s influence is ruining the legacy of the show. Things started great with her this season but the longer she’s been a judge, the more feathers she has ruffled. The crew thought at first she was nervous and distant but I think she’s just cold, even if that’s not her intention. It still hasn’t seemed to click with her that this is a worldwide franchise with hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars on the line.”

It seems the show’s ratings have dropped significantly since the premiere, with the lowest being the faith-based episode.

Is Carrie The Reason They Had A Gospel Special Event?

There has been a lot of division over the decision for American Idol to air a three-hour episode focused completely on gospel music.

It’s been said that Carrie Underwood was the biggest advocate for the show to have the special. She has previously mentioned that it has been hard to openly express her beliefs about religion and her faith since moving her family to Los Angeles.

Insiders claim Carrie isn’t the only reason the show had the special episode, but she played a huge role in it.

Now that it’s over, the show continues to move forward and is now down to only 12 remaining contestants. On Monday night’s episode, viewers will see two more performers eliminated. This will reveal who the top 10 singers will be.

There have been a few disappointments about who has been eliminated so far, but there are still some fan favorites remaining.

  1. I think Carrie Underwood has made the show better ! I love her remarks to the contestants. There are a lot of the singers who started there singing in churches and are very religious. Carrie is not picking out there religious songs . Carrie is a very good addition to the show !!

  2. I think Carrie is great for the show and the contestants. She gives them critical but positive feedback. Katy Perry was a mess and refused to wear decent clothes. I would like Carrie to get her hair cut.

  3. Carrie is a complete no value add as judge. She offers no guidance, coaching, or critique. She offers no feedback to contestants and says the same handful of flavorless bland, acknowledgement that the person sang a song and she liked it. It’s hard to believe having been through the process and becoming hugely successful star that she has no opinion or guidance to offer. Luke and Lionel are carrying the show entirely.

  4. I only watched a handful of shows since Carrie has been a judge , my thoughts are she has gotten to big for herself and has forgot how hard it is she seems callous as she speaks to them like they are after her job and not at all helpful as is her job on the show.
