Does Sean McLaughlin have any regrets after getting eliminated on Bachelor In Paradise? Keep reading to find out how he feels about the experience, plus his thoughts on the drama between Blake Moynes and Jess Girod.

Sean McLaughlin Misses A Connection On BIP

During his brief time on Bachelor In Paradise, Sean McLaughlin flighted between the female contestants, hoping to find a connection or, at the very least, a rose.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for the contestant from Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelorette. The Season 20 suitor was one of four men sent home on the latest episode of Bachelor In Paradise.

The other unlucky-in-love contestants were Aaron Schwartzman, John Buresh, and Will Urena.

McLaughlin briefly had a thing with Rachel Recchia, but she wasn’t his first choice. Ahead of the rose ceremony, he made a last-ditch effort to woo Jess Girod, who was already boo’d up with Blake Moynes.

Unfortunately for McLaughlin, Brayden Bowers let Rachel Recchia know what was up. Recchia chewed Sean McLaughlin out in front of everyone, and he was ultimately sent home.

The BIP castoff was on Us Weekly‘s Here For The Right Reasons podcast to discuss his experience. McLaughlin gushed over Jess Girod, calling her “an absolute sweetheart,” and made it clear he felt they had a missed connection.

Does He Have Any Regrets?

Does Sean McLaughlin regret trying to pursue Girod even after spending time with Rachel Recchia? The BIP alum doesn’t have much to say about Recchia on the podcast and only expresses regret about Jess Girod.

“I think I definitely could have done things differently going into [the show because] I probably should have pursued it a little bit — actually a lot — earlier,” he said in hindsight.

However, the reason he didn’t pursue Girod was because he wasn’t sure if they would have had a future.

“I was always looking to find someone and leave with them, she lives in Florida [too], so the distance between us was a hurdle that we wouldn’t have to face,” McLaughlin explained on the podcast.

As for Brayden Bowers and Rachel Recchia hooking up on the beach in Mexico, he has no hard feelings toward Bowers. “I’m enjoying watching them together. They’re very entertaining.”

Reaction To Blake Moynes Drama

While Jess Girod chose Blake Moynes over Sean McLaughlin, the couple’s relationship hit a snag by the end of the episode. When asked if this surprised him, McLaughlin said, “Not really.”

However, he also diplomatically said it wouldn’t surprise him if any of the couples hit a rough patch. “Paradise is tough,” he said.

What do you think of Sean McLaughlin’s time on Bachelor In Paradise? Should he have pursued Jess Girod from the get-go, or did she make it clear she wasn’t interested?

Bachelor In Paradise airs on Thursdays at 9 PM Eastern on ABC. If you miss the drama, you can catch it streaming on Hulu the next day.
