Hearties who expected a wedding in WCTH Season 10 were shellshocked by the developments in the episode entitled “Long Time Running.” In a cruel twist, the excitement of Lucas and Elizabeth’s wedding was for naught.

Instead, the couple had a Casablanca-style goodbye as he went to campaign and save the town, while she went back to her small life of teaching and raising Little Jack.

Meanwhile, Team Nathan has some pretty high expectations for the When Calls The Heart Season 10 finale episode, “Starry Nights.” There are still a few days before they see if their reunion wish will come true.

For now, those Hearties who loved LucaBeth are deciding whether they want to continue to watch the Hallmark series. For those fans, actor Chris McNally has a few special words for them. He also shared what his thoughts are for his character Lucas Bouchard.

Chris McNally Shares A Message To Hearties About WCTH Wedding Cancelation

After the shocking WCTH Season 10, Episode 11 aired, Chris McNally was part of The Edify After Show. The actor who portrays Lucas Bouchard discussed the future of his character.

Firstly, Chris contended that this is a “good storyline” for his character. He revealed, “I think it allows a lot of shifts and changes to happen.” McNally also admitted that this allows him to do something more than be “Elizabeth’s fiancé.” Now, instead of his character reacting to everything she does, he is going to be a change-maker in politics.

Lucas’ point of view this whole venture into government and whatnot is not something that could have been explored had he and Elizabeth gotten married.

He then spoke out to those Hearties who waited all season for a wedding. Unlike the series showrunner Lindsay Sturman and co-creator Brian Bird, who was quite gleeful about the idea that there would be more stories and seasons of the Hallmark series, Chris addressed those disappointed fans.

I’m empathetic towards the audience members, the Hearties, and fans who were really gunning for this and really wanted a wedding in Season 10. I think this is going to be a massive disappointment. I also feel like sometimes characters drift apart and things change and that’s part of life.

is Chris McNally Leaving When Calls The Heart?

Now that Elizabeth and Lucas have split, many Hearties have asked on social media whether Chris McNally was leaving the series. Some have stated he will not be back for Season 11. However, they have not been paying attention. Chris has been in two videos and one social media photo from the Season 11 filming set.

In other words, Lucas Bouchard will still be in WCTH Season 11.

Hearties, what do you think will happen next for Lucas Bouchard?
