‘RHONJ’ Teresa Giudice Gives ‘Family Business Card’ To Cop

For Teresa Giudice, star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, running into law enforcement is almost a yearly ritual. Most can recall her legal problems with fraud that led her and her ex-husband to serve jail time. Although Giudice might be enjoying her freedom, apparently, when stopped by an officer, the star tried to use a “family business card” to help her situation.

Six months ago, Teresa Giudice was traveling through Riverdale, New Jersey, when a cop pulled over her white sedan. According to the body cam footage, the officer stopped Giudice due to her drifting the vehicle to one side and going well below the speed limit. Taking her license, Giudice started to explain her driving skills. She even blamed the navigation system in her new Mercedes-Benz.

Listening to her story, the officer tried to make his way back to his vehicle to run Giudice’s license when she stopped him, suggesting, “I have family business cards.” The officer reassured Teresa Giudice there was no need. Eventually, the officer returned the license to her and simply gave her a warning.

Relieved about the warning, Teresa Giudice apologized several times, blaming her late father for teaching her how to drive with one hand. The star suggested that’s what she was doing when the police officer turned on his lights.

Teresa Giudice’s attorney, James Leonard, released a statement on the incident, focusing on why the footage hit the internet in the first place with the routine traffic stop happening six months ago. “The bigger issue here is why is a video of a woman being pulled over, who did absolutely nothing wrong, being released to the public more than five months after the actual motor vehicle stop happened.”

As for the “family business card” Teresa Giudice offered the police officer, Leonard cleared the confusion. “She was referring to a New Jersey State PBA card that was given to her by an acquaintance who is a law enforcement officer and issued her the card.”

They Really Do Exist

What is more shocking than Teresa Giudice spending 11 months in jail is the fact that a “get out of jail free” card does exist. The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association issued the card to both current and retired officers. Officers once received 30 cards they could hand out to family and friends. The number of cards changed after some appeared on eBay for a hefty $200 a piece.

With the card still in hand, Teresa Giudice’s lawyer insisted his client broke no laws and “Her demeanor in the video is exactly the person she is in real life.”
