Rachel Recchia & Jess Girod Share The Truth About ‘Paradise’
Rachel Recchia & Jess Girod get honest about what it’s really like on the beach in Mexico for Bachelor In Paradise. What’s the food like? Are there really that many crabs? Keep reading for all the tea.
Rachel Recchia Connects With Other ‘Failed’ Bachelorette
Successful Bachelorette seasons are few and far between, with many engagements ending after just a few months. Rachel Recchia is one of the failed engagements, ending her relationship with Tino Franco before the season finished airing.
But it’s a welcoming club. She took to her Instagram to share a snapshot with another club member – Season 17 lead Katie Thurston. She joked in the caption, “what’s better than one failed bachelorette??”
Thurston chimed in, dropping the comment, “Sisters dating too many Mr’s.”
The Season 17 Bachelorette broke up with her final rose pick, Blake Moynes, just a few months after their engagement. She then went on to date John Hersey, another contestant from her season. But that relationship didn’t last long either.
Now she returns to Bachelor In Paradise along with Rachel Recchia for Season 9.
Jess Girod, a fan-favorite from Season 27 of The Bachelor, is also on the beach in Mexico for a second shot at love.
BIP Tea: Are Crabs a Problem?
Rachel Recchia and Jess Girod reunited to watch last week’s episode of BIP together. The Bachelor Nation blog shares that the two took questions from fans during their watch session.

One of the most common questions fans have about BIP is about the crabs – real crabs, not the STD. Temporary host David Spade shared a video during Season 7 of the show of crabs infiltrating his room.
However, according to the Season 9 contestants, crabs really weren’t an issue this year due to the lack of rain. However, one problem Recchia had was running into several of her exes on the beach. She took a hearty sip of wine when a fan asked if the situation was “awkward.”
Jess Girod Shares Her Favorite Part of Paradise
Another fan was curious about the living arrangements. The girls revealed that the women all sleep in the same room in bunk beds.
Jess Girod revealed that the close quarters were her favorite thing about Paradise. “Being able to be within 2 feet of all the girls and having sleepovers!”
She also enjoyed the food and drink options. The Bachelor alum stuck to french fries and her drink of choice was “a strawberry mojito with whipped cream on top.”

Rachel Recchia Updates On Breast Reduction Surgery
In March 2023, Rachel Recchia underwent breast reduction surgery. She shared with fans that her scars were “completely healed” by the time she left for BIP. She said that she was instructed to keep the scars out of the sun, which she did “for the most part.”
It sounds like both ladies had a great time in Mexico. Fans will have to tune in to see if they found love on the beach. Bachelor In Paradise airs Thursdays at 9 PM Eastern on ABC.
